Tranny and wierd noise questions

JR Ranger Does anyone feel the shifts in the 5 lower gears. I've got a 2024 Ranger XLT FX4 4X4 2.3 with 3k miles on it. My shifts are not rough but not as smooth as the the top 5 gears? Second question when I'm cruising on the freeway 70mph I hear a faint almost grinding sound ( like bad bearing rubbing sound). Seem to increase the faster I go. Haven't scheduled an appointment with the dealer yet. Wanted to see if anyone else noticed this.

There was a small number of very first next gen Rangers over here in Australia that had low rear diff oil added in from factory. Some rear diffs needed to be replaced due to damage. This has no longer been a thing since early 2023, however it may still happen as manufacturing is still fairly new for the US market

Symptoms were the exact sounds you're describing. 100% worth taking it in to get looked at asap

Update took truck to dealership turned out it was a bad front wheel bearing which was replaced under warranty. They also reflashed the transmission what a difference. All is good now.

Took it to the dealer and turned out to be a bad front hub/wheel bearing. Coveted under warranty. All good again.
