I have a 2026 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 2.7L V6 with only 1800 miles. I noticed around 1000-1200 miles that the transmission would hum/whine right before shifting. It only happens from 3rd-7th gear. My local Ford dealership couldn’t find anything wrong and ended up contacting Ford directly. I have attached a picture of Ford’s response. I’m just curious if anyone has heard this from their Ranger?

Translation: based on the information you’ve provided we don’t think this is an issue, good luck.

I don’t think it’s considered fully broken in yet?

take notes if anything changes - it’s good you have this documented through the dealer. kudos to them for reaching out to FMC instead of just making something up.

Haha that’s what I thought, too. You would think Ford would manufacture something to help reduce the noise in the cabin. Apparently, GM has some type of noise reduction case or shield over theirs to help reduce the noise. Maybe more people will come forward with the complaint, and Ford will do something about it. Would love to hear from more owners with the same truck, engine, and transmission to see if they can hear it as well
