Got into my truck tonight and I swear the turn signals sound different. Sounds like the turn signal sound is coming from directly behind the gauge cluster.
I verified other tones like door ajar and lights on come from the front door speakers. Can anyone verify where their turn signal sound comes from?

Most if not all I believe since 2020, many earlier, it's from an electromechanical flasher relay, which controls not only the pattern (timing) by creating and breaking an electrical circuit at regular intervals but the sound is actually engineered into the devices to be heard audibly. There are regulations on the books pertaining to the turn signal lights and audible sound levels. Location of the devices determines where you might perceive the sound coming from. Mine seems to emanate from behind cluster vicinity of dash.

Thanks, so I’m just crazy thinking it sounded different. I know that when there is a fault with the audio system the chimes no longer come from the speakers. But i confirmed they still are.
So I’m just a bit crazy.

Ok, your not crazy at all, although I don't practice phycyasiatry, you went and made my old **s curious. My XLT door chime does come from both front speakers. Old days there was a seperate small speaker noise maker under the dash! I might be getting older but still like to learn! 👍
