LOL... Criminy, first mats I've ever heard of needing this much engineering to keep in place. Thanks for the detailed info.
The compromise for soft formed mats that cover 100% of your carpeted foot wells is you have to hold them up to make them fitted since they have tall sides and are not structurally rigid. If you want easy and don't care about the plush part, buy the 5 gallon bucket type everyone else makes to turn your carpeted interior back into a tub.

Yea, I prefer the snug fit and I don't want them to slide at all when I have passengers or it's raining/snowing.

Some cars you can probably get away with no clips if they are shallow.

Love my Tuxmats. I used all the clips and even added some of my own industrial velcro to get the door sill flaps held down to my liking. Coverage is so good I just made sure carpet was well cleaned and maintain the cleaning on the surface of the mats. They have some cushion to the mats, and many passengers have had positive comments on the look and feel.
