Weird Audio Volume behavior

In my RR I’ve recently noticed that audio volume randomly increases and decreases. The feature to change volume per background noise is turned off.

Same thing happens to mine. Especially when using android auto. If a call/text etc occurs it's supposed to mute then go back up in volume. It stays muted or lower volume now.

It also changes volume from song to song or just randomly now too.

It is very frustrating.

If running navigation in the background, volume will lower when navigation has something important to say. If the navigation volume is turned down, the radio volume will still decrease and make you wonder why.
I use Waze for navigation and experience fluctuations in the radio volume as a result.

I use Waze/Google etc, this is not that situation. It happens when not using any navigation. After some thought I think it actually only happens when using the radio, not spotify etc.

I can't seem to get audio with Waze or Google Maps. I am only connecting via Bluetooth and not using android auto. The phone call stuff works just not the map apps. Is this something to do with navigation muting? I have checked all the Waze audio settings and Google Maps settings.

There is a bluetooth phone only connection, then a separate Carplay/Android auto connection which includes connecting to car wifi. The second one is what you need to use.
