What gear is my truck in?

Yes I tried it today and it works.
I now know what gear I am in!!

Now if I only had a tach.

Assuming you have the 8-inch instrument panel display, if you go to Settings/Screen Content, you should be able to display a vertical tachometer to the left of your speedometer.

VocemHominis iscorrect, there's a check box for tach and engine oil temp. I always run it.

The only way to get a real Tach is to upgrade to a 12" Cluster. A $800- 1200 plus prospect, depending on what they do with your core (accept or not).

There's a check box in display the the Bar tach. Not completly useless. lol
