Hey Guys,

I’m at about 2,800 miles on my 24 Ranger Raptor and on two seperate occasions while idling the truck has spat out some white smoke from the exhaust. Went away after a couple on off cycles and drove fine but just wondering if anybody else has had the same thing happen to them on the 3.0 EcoBoost?

If there's no blue smoke (and it's purely white) and it goes away it's likely some form of condensation. Try to get a little whiff of it. If there's and oil or coolant smell then there might be something going on, but I doubt it.

Nope the truck was warmed up and I just pulled over to take a phone call and smoke came out of the exhaust. Very odd

Yes it was purely white and had a sour coolant smell to it. The exhaust pipes also have a black soot residue. Will have to have dealer check it out but since it happens intermittently I don’t think I’ll have any luck.

Well, then it looks like coolant is getting into the combustion process and that usually means a head gasket issue.

Check your coolant level and see if it is outside of the operating range when the vehicle is cold. If it's below the minimum line, it could very well be a cylinder sealing issue. Make note of the level if it's within range (take a photo) and check it every day or two at the same time/temperature to see if it's dropping.

Hi there! This smoke concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience. Please send us a private message including your VIN and local Ford dealer so we can investigate further.
Thanks!
