I am no insider & Ive never owned a Scout before.

I’m keeping pretty close tabs on the electric truck market though. What that really means is I watch a few YouTube channels and any updates I can get regarding electric trucks.

The full size electric truck market is not doing well. The ram charger was just delayed again until 2026. Rivian sales are down. GMC and Silverado EV truck sales are up but the numbers pale in comparison to the number of ice trucks they sell.

I’m just wondering if the longer this goes on, does Scout have a higher propensity to add an ice engine?

Rumors that Ram REV pure EV truck could actually be scrapped all together.

What do you all think? Is Scout considering an ICE option or would they ever scrap the BEV only option and go with harvester or ICE only?

I don't think they will. It would require them re-engineering.

Stellantis might be scrapped all together in the next couple of years.

Primarily due to the Ford Lightning.
EVs are simply better vehicles.
Exactly… love my lightning , it’s perhaps the best vehicle I have owned so far driving manners wise and so much faster than it ever should be. The scout vehicles look badass and share some Rivian platform stuff so should be a solid vehicle.

Sure. That graph looks nice. But check out the sales numbers side by side of the Lightning vs gasoline. Just seems like adding a gasoline engine might be something tempting to look at.

Nah all plans are for EVs, if they switch to ICE it would mean the wait would be longer and all the money they’ve spent on engineering and research would be wasted. I’m sure they did a lot of research before going into this venture.

The only thing I'm worried about is the towing capacity of the Harvester version. Everything else is spot on.
Exactly, same here. Looking forward to the Terra Harvester, but 5k towing won't cut it. I'd like 10k, but 7,5k is drop dead minimum. I'll be giving up my '15 3500 Duradizzle when this comes out. And granted I don't truck camper + tow a boat with it anymore. I will need to still tow more than a jet ski.

The range extender version with only 150 miles battery range practically is an ICE vehicle. Plus the vehicles won’t be ready until 2027, so they’re already behind.

I think EV is here to stay. The rate of people making the switch is going to bounce around but eventually it is going to be a huge part of the market. Ice will be around for a long time, but electric is the future.

It's worth noting that the F-150 has been the best-selling US vehicle for decades.
In 2024, the Toyota RAV4 was the top-selling vehicle in the USA, dethroning the F-150.

I don't see a pure ice. Perhaps they will try to figure out the towing limit on the EREV. Sure, they might get some extra sales with an ICE, but that is a saturated market.
