Wireless Apple Carplay - Text Message Question

Hi All. I have a '25 RR using Apple Airplay, Wirelessly. Currently have an Iphone 16 pro. While driving or parked, connected to Airplay, i'll receive a text message and it only displays on my iphone. Shouldn't it display on my info screen automatically no matter what was on the display (radio) when the text message arrived?
Thought it should work that way? I have deleted the phone from my RR and the Ranger from iphone bluetooth. Restarted Sync, booted iphone, to no avail..

Mine (‘24 Lariat) displays the little
Red ball notification on the text app in the lower edge of the screen regardless of full view. Eg: if you’re using the full screen map you should have “quick launch” apps along the bottom - I think these are auto selected based on last used - I usually have text, phone, Spotify down there.
I think you can customize apps/notifications in settings either in the truck screen or the phone:
CarPlay settings in the phone itself -
Setting (gear icon)> general> CarPlay> Ranger

Just checked those CarPlay setting on iphone/Ranger, they look correct. So, if your info screen is displaying radio channels, and a text arrives, you only get that red ball icon, no display change from current view?

that is how mine works. I just get the little ball next to the text app icon

there might be an iOS setting to have a message pop up?

i then ask Siri to read text messages

In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, hit the info button next to the truck and look for the “Show Message Notifications” toggle. I think you need that turned on.

I will say mine doesn’t work 100% of the time, but it’s been pretty good once I fixed that.

Thanks! Just turned that setting on. Will test it later today.

Mine shows a notification when it comes in. If you happen to see it, you can tap it and Siri will read it.

That’s what mine does…alerts you to a message and when selected it reads it to you

then it will ask you if you want to reply

if so, you verbally respond, it reads it backs to you verbally to confirm

then Sends it if you give the ok
