We’ll just got the Ford Ranger Tailgate Spoiler installed. Arrived this morning via FedEx. Box was in a shambles but no damage done to the spoiler.

It was an easy install. It comes with 3M tape installed in the correct locations.

Simple pre-install to line up proper location. Marked with grease pencil then clean with isopropyl alcohol then install place.

It’s a fairly easy and straight forward install but again, take your time fitting and refitting, making sure it’s centered.???

That is one seriously good looking RR! ???
‘I’m temp to try the tailgate / cab spoilers, but I just don’t trust the “3M Tape”.
I wonder why they just couldn’t have it replace the factory part, especially on the tailgate.

It’s solid and utilizes 3M Tape an adhesion promoter. With the adhesion promoter this tailgate spoiler is solidly mounted. Additionally, the way it’s designed it actually grips the tailgate.

It’s not coming off once it’s properly mounted. I actually stood on it just to prove the point in front of my wife.???

Humor me, please. Besides looks, do these spoilers actually help aero at all?
According to Ford, yes but I have no way of testing it except to do it the old way with cotton string and duct tape.???

Ford also says the hood “heat extractors” are functional…don’t see it! Spoilers like this are designed for rear end downforce on sports cars, which to me would be massively outweighed on a truck by the actual air resistance against the tailgate itself, unless you had a tonneau cover on to actually stop air from entering the bed. Even with a tonneau, I doubt any noticeable impact. If it was a 911 or some light weight high performance sports car, I could see a duck tail wing helping. On a pickup truck, I highly doubt it. This to me is purely cosmetic.

What did I just comment too and what is the subject of question?

Rather you doubt or believe it is not the question. I made a comment based on another members question, from what I know, not personal speculations or opinions.

I didn’t install it for aerodynamics, simply the aesthetic value.???

I wonder if the tailgate spoiler interferes with the closing of a soft tonneau cover. Can you post a pic of it showing the top of the tailgate??

Reportedly (operative word), the tailgate spoiler on the Dodge pickup increases fuel economy a little over 1/2 MPG. It's all about smoothing the air flow over the bed. Have you experienced any improvement? Obviously highway improvement, not urban.

Do you have a pict from the top? I have a retractable cover and was wondering if I installed the spoiler, would it seal better at the tailgate. Thanks
