I'm looking to see where some of you have bought your bug shields/deflectors, specifically the type that sits on brackets rather than the stick on one's. I tried the one from egr and it kept breaking at the mounting screws. I've seen a few on here that look to have the same type but with no problems. If there another brand that makes them other than egr?

EGR is the only one so far I’ve seen.. personally, I don’t like the bracketed bug shields. They’re all prone to cracking now or later. Get some kid hanging off it and it will break.

I used the Lund/Ford Accessory Protector/Deflector; 👍🇺🇸

It’s a bug deflector, that diverts bugs, stones and debris away from the windshield. Where the bugs, stones or debris goes is irrelevant, nor does anyone know.👍🇺🇸

How long did it take you to receive? ordered one 8-23-24 . They sent an order confirmation. Couple days later I seen a pending transaction on my card. Then a couple days later, they showed 3 pending transactions. Then they all disappeared! Never heard anything from Ford. Except for order confirmation. I texted them Saturday. I see Real Truck carries them . 🤷🏻‍♂️. Thanks

Okay there is some confusion on sites like RealTruck about a stand off bug deflector. I even got inaccurate info from more than one...some even contend that the RRaptor hood differs from the regular '24 Ranger. I did not want a stick down one. I contacted EGR, whose I was told would not fit a RRaptor and they assured me it would and it did. Closest to AVS I got for my '19 and AVS was bought by Lund and they did not have anything like what I got in '19. The ERG gets good reviews and is really close in every way - like it so far, easy install, no drilling, etc.

I used two of those, both of which cracked at the mounting screws.

I know where they all go...into my Bronco's windshield :( That thing is like a rock/bug trap. Looking forward to getting my Ranger and will definitely invest in a bug-shield.

Ouch - did they replace? I wasn't thrilled with the different mounting from the AVS, but like I say did not want a stick on.

I just ordered the EGR bug shield. I also don't like the stick-ons, but watched the video install on these and looks like it should do the trick. Not sure if that thin sticky tape will protect the paint, so I may use something thicker--maybe a tire patch?

Yeah without one they sure do, that’s why a deflector works…………Where they go from there isn’t into the windshield and is irrelevant.👍🇺🇸

The sticky tape is thicker than it looks in the video.

I will offer a couple words of advice, as far as the outer mounts go.:

First, when you get to the point of locating the tape for the outer mounts, make sure you don't have a gob of seam-sealer on the hood underside where it'll mount.
I did and ended up shaving a bit off with a razor-blade, then doing a paint touch up. You can't tell I had to do it. Of course this meant I had to wait a couple days before I could finish putting it on.

Second, you more than likely will need to spread/open the gap of those end mounts a little bit. Mine were a bit too narrow for my comfort, so I used a needle-nose pliers and opened the gap a little bit. They still fit nice and snug, but not exceedingly so as if I would've just put them on how they came.
