Curious what everyone is doing. Are you using 91 premium only for off-roading or also daily driving?

Around here the premium is 93 octane. Since I ran out the full tank of 87 that my truck came with I've been running 93 for the last 7200 miles.

Always premium, it’s 92 here in Oregon.

Our 87 is mid grade and regular is 85. Premium is 91 and if you get it at Costco, its basically the same price as premium. I have only put premium in and plan on just doing that in the future. Will also run injector cleaner every 5k.

Premium is an automatic for me. This a a performance vehicle. All Ecoboost engines are recommended to use premium for optimal performance.

Definitely go with premium (93 octane) for the Raptor. It’s a performance engine, and using lower-octane fuel won’t allow you to get the most out of it. It doesn’t make sense to invest in a Raptor and then compromise on fuel quality, as that can affect its overall performance.

When I test-drove mine, the tank was almost empty, so the dealer filled up the tank while I was doing the paperwork. I suspect they used lower-octane fuel because the first 300 miles weren’t as smooth. Once I switched to premium for the second tank, I noticed a significant improvement in how the truck performed.

It may not have been the only factor, but I definitely felt a difference after switching to premium.

Options where I live are 87/89/93 octane. If I were doing a long flat highway drive with no load I’d consider using 87. However, there are no flat roads here & much of my driving is 25 mile round trips so I use 93 for DD. There was a noticeable difference in performance between 87 & 93 octane for me.

If you plan on keeping it long term, only Tier 1 brands of premium fuel, 91 or higher and full synthetic motor oil that meets fords oil specs every 5k miles. It’s a turbo charged, direct injected engine, maintenance's is key to longevity

There is partial synthetic oil? Not trying to be snarky. Ford doesn’t recommend 10K?

Ford here in Canada recommends 16000km(9942 miles) but I going to get it done at 10000km(6213 miles). That's about a years driving for me without any long trips.

Yes, ford has a synthetic blend. Yes, they might say change oil at 10K. That's insanity imo. Ask any knowledgeable/experience mechanic. Do whatever you want, it's your truck. But I'll stick with my previous suggestion.
