Every time I fill the tank, about a pint leaks out and leaves two large puddles on the floor, like a poorly trained puppy. I suspect that the rubber seal where the filler spout attaches is bad. I can just add silicone sealer there, but before I proceed, I thought I would check to see if anybody else has had this problem.

If I have the dealer fix it, they will order a new seal, and it will take two visits IF the part is available. Comments?

I just put an entire gallon in my truck, 3500 miles, I found it hard to believe I used it all. But I saw no leaks (Not that I was looking). Interesting.

No way I would put silicone on a brand new truck.
Contact your dealer and get that shit warrantied!

The seal itself is on backorder showing an off date of mid September.

Part number is N1WZ-17673-A

You can get a whole tank within a week or so but I doubt they would want to pay the extra $100 to save a couple of weeks.

I didn't notice any leaks when I filled mine. You sure you didn't just miss the hole?

Yeah I suspect some didn't get a full fill at the factory/dealership. My bottle was empty after a month. Filled it up and its now been five months. I typically go 1.5+ years between washer fluid fills.

No spillage on my fills. Up here in Wisconsin I've been going through about a bottle every few weeks this summer. Bugs this summer seem to be worse than normal for sure.

Speaking of washer fluid, does anyone else have an issue with using their washer fluid/wipers with the windows open at speed? I've never had this happen with any of my previous vehicles, but when I use the washer fluid/wipers it seems like it all dumps into the open window. When the window is closed you can see all of the fluid stream across the glass.

I have some visors to install but want to wait until I get tinting done.

Yes, it was not user error, it has happened twice. I used a ton of fluid driving the 1400 miles back from where I bought it in SD, and I noticed a puddle then when I topped it up en route, and later at my home.

If it isn’t just the gasket, it is a crack or other flaw in the bottom of the spout or around the opening in the reservoir. It leaks pretty hard for ten minutes, then stops.

I never squirt with the windows open, that is asking for a bath in any vehicle without rain gutters, and I truly dislike the front camera squirter, it blasts a light coating of fluid all over the hood. I did not know the truck had that feature, my LC200 had headlight washers, and it did the same, but the overspray wasn’t noticeable on a white truck, vs a dark blue one. I may disconnect that front one, or if it is accessible enough, just put a small spring clamp on the hose during the warm months. I don’t mind that squirter overspray in the winter….

The last time I filled the washer fluid, it took the entire gallon. It did not leak at all.

I suspect it may have a crack in the filler neck or the seals been damaged. If anyone pushed it downward it will easily crack.👍🇺🇸

No leaks here…yet. Have topped mine off a couple times but haven’t drained it fully. For what it’s worth - my wife’s Subaru outback, my Subie STI and my Ram 2500 each took a full gallon of fluid when empty.

Just added ANOTHER entire gallon. I see no leaks when I fill it, but I dont use it that much to have gone through two gallons in 6000 miles.

Leaking washer fluid and took it in. They ordered a new part and had this SSM ready for me.

Thanks, my dealer “fixed” mine by straightening the seal, the tech confirmed it definitely positively no longer leaked. The next time I topped it up, it dumped just like before. I will tell them about this SSM. But realistically I might just buy a new neck and a new seal and do it myself. Does anyone know the part numbers?

Here is a direct link to the SSM: … https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11007904-0001.pdf

Found the part, $34…. https://dealer.parts.ford.com/shop/...ght-p-n1wz17a605f?pdp=y#/sectionId:1020065767

Thanks.

Why not just have Ford pay for it and do the work?

Because I have to go there, wait in their customer waiting dungeon while they actually install it, and drive home, a big waste of gas and my time. Like many RV repairs, if you aren’t willing to do small repairs yourself, you should never have bought it in the first place. The last time the dealer looked at the leak, it was during a scheduled service. It is simply not worth it to me to do this as a separate job. I could combine it with my next service, but the service guy will say, we will have to order it under warranty, and you can come back to get it installed.

I should call him and see what he says….. if I can actually connect. Their phone system is a mess..,,
