Rear locker just means both rear tires get power even if one wheel is slipping. The 4Lo/4Hi comes with 4WD automatically.
Rear locker is meant to be used in 4WD (low only usually) or 2WD you can LOCK the rear two like a positraction. And if in 4WD mode then you also get 1 wheel pulling up front so its almost a 4WD

The locking rear differential locks the rear differential, forcing the axles to rotate at the same speed.

4WD selects 4WD, which forces the driveshafts to rotate at the same speed.

4WD Low selects 4WD low, which forces the use of a different gear ratio within the transfer case, thus changing every ratio you were using before.

A Positraction differential is a limited slip differential, not a locker.

One wheel pulling up front isn't pulling anything at all. You get one that spins and eats all your torque and another that just sits there doing nothing. The best you can do under those circumstances is rely on traction control or use the brake as a clutch.

Im well aware how it works. Youtube videos show it all. Lock up 1 to 1 and only used to a certain MPH in low
Regular 4WDS are front left and rear right,,,,they have NEVER been 4wd..unless you had an old international
And a posi can be exactly like a locker...both spin all the time at same RPM... Maybe you just didnt understand what i said...but thanks for your input.

I want to know what are the differences between the Sport and FX4 packages.

Ford has been using the Sport a lot in its marketing pictures.

I learned from my last Jeep I am likely not to do much off-roading at all, just pavement, NE snow, light gravel.

I know it might be a good value, but really would I need it? I don't even have a harpoon!

Includes: • FX4® Off-Road Box Decal • Electronic-Locking Rear Differential • Exposed Steel Bash Plate, Engine and Transfer Case Shield, and Fuel Tank Guard • Off-Road Screen in Center Stack • Off-Road Tuned Shocks • FX4 Selectable Drive Modes: Mud/Ruts, Sand • Trail Control™

I mean the decal Is rad 😃

I think there are some nicer aftermarket plates, shelids, and shocks.

you can order locking rear differential separately

i think if you are searching existing inventory it might be easier to find the fx-4 versus locking differential

i don’t know how important the selectable drive modes or trail control is, yet…..
