@cc1999 it is tough to say with how new the truck is still. Also you have to consider the MSRP difference is $9k for a 4x4 Lariat, then you have a $2k Lariat rebate running now, so you're at $11k difference, not $3-5k. Plus maintenance (*tires*), insurance, interest on the difference in purchase price, fuel economy and more.
I just did a quick build and price them the other day and again just now.
Lariat.

57965 - 52100 = 5865.00
When I bought my Raptor it did have a $1000 trade assistance rebate.
Don't know if that is still there or not.

Without Rebates $57,965 - 54,100.00 = $3865 difference which is mostly what I base my quick analysis on. That 2K rebate does help close that gap some.
I bet it is still close, not sure how much difference the cost of tires would be some of those things are very minimal differences.

I am still not sure where the $9K comes from your seeing.
I am still seeing that spread more in the $5K initial purchase cost assuming option as similar as possible.

That is comparing v6 lariat 4x4 to v6 Raptor which are all 4x4s.

The Raptor is the best value in the lineup, assuming you can afford it and towing capacity is not a concern.

Wait, so still no moonroof option on the Raptor, but it's available on lesser trims??
Maybe they think extreme offroading will eventually create a moon roof.

  • A Power Moonroof is a new option with late availability in Spring 2026.
No way! I’ve been waiting for this forever, what are the chances this gets on the Raptor? Or would they not do it due to the harshness.

New Ranger Raptor MSRP is up to 57,070 so exactly 1k more. Destination is the same.

I guess I timed it just right. I bought mine in July off the lot with 8 miles on it. The MSRP was $55,820 and the destination was $1,595.

And I was just hoping for a 2.7 option in the XL. Oh well.

@cc1999 you added $4,200 in options. Especially the v6 option which costs over $2k but looking at cars.com only 1/4 rangers from 2024 onwards including Raptor have the v6.

Fact is the sales price is lower, unless you create some contrived scenario. Here's a new 4x4 Lariat vs the cheapest new Raptor, it's over 10k higher:

You have to compare a fully loaded Lariat to the Raptor for a true apples to apples price (minus the moonroof), not the starting price.
Except I never claimed apples to apples. I can go and buy and enjoy a 4x4 Lariat without needing fox shocks, v6, offroad styling, locking diffs.

The point was not to make a Raptor Lariat, it's to express that any notions of equal or better value are based on such contrived scenarios where you assume those features have value to everyone same as they do to you.
