Man, Ford sure sells a lot of F150s. 😵💫

Interesting that the Maverick outsells the Ranger by more than 2:1. The pricing is pretty close these days on mid- to upper-trims.

We own a 2025 maverick and Ranger. Both XLTs. The Maverick is for our daughter and the Ranger is mine. Of course I prefer my ranger, but the Maverick can do almost everything my Ranger can and gets 36mpg all day long. That is hard to beat.

Very fair point. I like the Maverick fine. Personally, I drive a lot of fire roads and forest service roads and I‘ve found that BOF just ages better in such conditions than unibody. But my use case is somewhat rare.

the narrative that ford is worried about the Ranger stealing f150 sales doesn’t make sense to me because of the sheer number of f159s that ford sells.

maybe I’m wrong

if the maverick or perhaps the new midsize electric truck would incorporate a pass through bed, they would be high on my list.

like the telo electric truck

Yea would love to see the sales numbers by trim level of the Ranger.

With that sort of substantial sale volume increase they might be able to catch the Colorado in 2026.

I do still think it is safe to say you can tell the Bronco demand has finally weekend and finally a decent amount of the plant's capacity has been shifted to the Ranger.

I still believe it will take bringing on a second plant to ever have a hope of catching Toyota or GM as a whole in the midsize segment.

With 70K+ units in 2025, I would say the word is finally starting to get out about how good these Rangers really are. Does give me a little pause, as seen with the Bronco once demand starts getting met, the residual values start to soften up a bit. Very likely to some effects of this with the Residuals on the Ranger once production starts to catch up with demand.

Ranger seems to be showing the most year over year growth of all the mid-size trucks.

I went into buying a new midsize truck without any bias toward a particular brand. Starting back in August, I watched countless reviews, comparison videos, engine deep dives, and just about every midsize truck video I could find. I didn’t end up buying my truck until the end of December, so I had plenty of time to really figure out what made the most sense for me.

All that research led me to the Ranger, which consistently came out on top or very close to it in nearly every review. It’s well liked by almost everyone who’s reviewed it. In fact, I didn’t even bother test driving the other trucks because each one seemed to fall short in some way compared to the Ranger.

The Colorado doesn’t get great gas mileage, has a smaller back seat than the Ranger, and its long term reliability doesn’t look very promising. The Toyota is simply too expensive for what you get, and many reviews describe it as the least comfortable and the roughest riding of the group. The Nissan has heavy steering and an awkwardly upright back seat, and overall it just doesn’t feel like a modern truck compared to the others.

I know everyone wants different things out of their truck, but the Ranger seems to be the best all-around option. I’m honestly surprised it isn’t selling better. Maybe over time its reputation will continue to grow.

This was me too, I watched every ranger vs video review I could find on YouTube since spring and it was always near or at the top. It's good all around with no significant flaws.

I do have a bit of a ford bias though, and I am 1 example of buying a ranger xl over an F150. Did my part for those Q4 XL sales numbers lol

All very true.
I do believe the majority if not all the competitors in the segment have their mid-size trucks built in dedicated production plants to those trucks, and hence have a significant production capacity advantage over the Ranger which shares a production line with the Bronco, which up until recently was getting the lion's share of the capacity do to its incredible sales success over the past several years.

Bronco sales demand seems to finally be hits its peak and has started cooling off and freeing up some more capacity for the Ranger. Least that is what how appears to me.

I think that trend is likely to continue into 2026 and I am expecting as the word continues to get out there about how great these Rangers really are, that they will either have to shift even more of that capacity over to Ranger away from Bronco, or bring on a second plant. I am hopeful for a second plant and if that were to happen, I would love to see them add the Everest to the US market lineup while they are at it.

Honestly, I think I need to move to Australia. They have all the cool toys! I never even heard of the everest. The tremor version is awesome looking.
