Mud Flap / Splash Guard Options - Recommendations?

Good news. How do you like the look? Agree on the splash, but that's inevitable IMO. The faster you go, the higher it gets, lol. I have found the flaps are pretty decent at deflecting rocks, and other debris away which is good because I am not a fan of running boards so I removed mine.

I think they look great. They match the color/texture and all as you would expect it to being OEM. The molding and fit is spot on - no goofy gaps or misalignment. They do look a bit "tacked on" despite it following existing contours, but you can tell it is by design to offer more coverage. I think it's a great blend of form and function.

You hit the biggest reason on why I wanted the flaps: rocks. Given that I've got a mile of gravel to cover before I hit asphalt, the K03s love to bring some along for the ride. I've yet to hear one get kicked up on the running board with the all-to-typical "TING" noise the rock makes when it hits the metal. The guards do a great job here - and in my opinion is the biggest reason to get these. I just wish they could capture a little more of the little stuff, but I'm just being picky. I'd likely have to get some of those overly large rally-style ones that stick inches beyond and drag the ground to get what I'm after

Glad you are happy with them, and I agree, wider is better when talking about mud flaps. Sounds like you needed them too. I ride on a lot of poorly maintained asphalt roads so they have been a big help in giving me peace of mind. Not sure if I'm honest. One of the reasons I landed with the Raptor is that it's pretty well set for my needs as it comes aside from a handful of practical things I intended to do. I've put the Softopper on there which has been great. The Ford rubber bed mat. These splash guards. I'd like to get something to protect the tailgate, but I can't get a straight answer out of one of the vendors on here which has delayed my decision. I'll likely tint the windows. I wouldn't mind getting it tuned, but I've got warranty apprehension and another car I can hop in if I've got the go-fast itch that needs scratching.

The truck is great for my use case of doing the typical run around stuff like going into the office and what have you, but fun to catch a service road all the same. I did an impromptu run to one of the local WMA areas just yesterday for no reason other than I can with the Raptor. I've got my old Land Cruiser that I've typically used for camp trips over the past however many years, but I may be selling as I keep grabbing the keys to this instead.

They're neat trucks. Aside from a handful of things I consider a need like I listed above, they're pretty well set as they are.

Understood, making it yours. If I may suggest if you haven't already done so the Ford Performance Tune is a must, you will like it, and does not jeapardize the warranty. I also have the Ford Ranger bed mat, and appreciate the cushion it gives my aging knees when I am crawling around in the bed. Here is what the darkest tint you can legally get in MD looks like. I also added the WeatherTech window deflectors so I can keep the windows cracked during the summer without the fear of rain or other feces falling inside the ride. I like the tailgate as I get a cup holder, built in measuring tape, and the ridges keep screws, and stuff from rolling away. My other car is a 2007 STI Limited, and I love that ride, but like you I always seem to be grabbing the RR key instead. So much I have even put a for sale sign in the Subie, lol. It's all about enjoyment, and it sounds like you are enjoying yours.

so i bought the musology ones to see how they are.. The price is too good not to test them..I know they are rigid and have a lip that can collect dirt but they do look good.

Not sure what may be different between a Raptor/non-Raptor's fasteners, but they were perfect for the Raptor.

Unfortunately, no Musology products were available for the Raptor when I purchased. It seemed to be between the Weathertech and Ford offerings unless you went down the different path of something like Rokblox or whatever they're called.

So I test fit the tailgate mat from Triple A Liners. It’s a nice mat but will not work with my tonneau cover. It grabs the seal when I lower the tail gate. I already have the spray in bed liner but was willing to see if this add more protection, which it does. Just won’t work for me with my tonneau. I can ask Triple A if I can send it to you if you want it???

No screws just push pins. So far zero complaints other than my son not liking them. lol

Is yours the "full" style that goes over the top of the tailgate? I would assume so if it is making contact with your tonneau. I am trying to find the one that effectively just covers the painted portion (if you didn't have a spray-in liner). I don't want one that wraps over the top as I have a topper that I don't want to interfere with. I also don't want to cover up the clamp holes or the ruler that's built into plastic.

This is what I have. The sis give me double sided tape but it would not have helped this situation.

ohhh!! i see what you mean. I'd try the lasfit one then..It's what i have currently and does not stick like that one but once the weather improves, ill be swapping and testing Trip A' version as well.

I suspect the issue you're facing is unique to your style of cover but further testing will confirm. If i have the same issues as you then might be something to note

Yeah, the Triple A sticks up past the top of the tailgate.

Honestly, I don't mind that if it seals up and protects from sliding off and rubbing leg against the stupid ruler..it can be sharp if wearing shorts. A few months ago when weather was nice, my shin caught the raised ruler..not a big deal but worth a mention.

I used the original factory clips, and have had no problems as of yet. That's not a bad looking mudflap though, and the main thing is you like them.
