Don't you just turn it off with the button on the steering wheel? That's what I do.
Because I'm an old fart. I like to start and go rather than have to remember to push a bunch of buttons first...
I wonder if I turn it off then set the R button memory if it saves that setting.

I hear ya man. It only comes on with the CC so 1 extra button to press when you activate CC. Otherwise it's off.

Mine lane assist is always on. Period. (I've only used the CC once for a couple miles. )
But I haven't tried turning it off with the button on the wheel....

You can turn it off and it will stay off. Just switch mode to alert and alert intensity to low. I don’t feel anything when it’s set this way.

I tried this and it worked! Thanks. I had not been aware of the button on the wheel until you mentioned it... So many gizmos to play with... :like:

I discovered Sport mode today! Wow!
Up till now I'd been playing with steering wheel buttons, but with no snow, not going offroad etc I hadn't really thought about drive modes. So much fun! Stops the trans from its eternal indecision and trying to get a higher gear and lugging all the time. Add in the flappy paddles and it's a blast!
And - I burned a dozen or so cds onto a zip drive and tried that out. Zipping around being stupid AND my favorite tunes!
I was surprised the radio reads and indexes the albums and tracks, that was cool.

I wish they had a straight "OFF" option.

I wonder.. Does anyone know if the R button would turn the lane assist off, and remember to select sport mode. Since it remembers auto start/stop off, I would think it could.

I do too. But I'm pretty sure if you have it set this way nothing happens in the wheel. I'll have to pay more attention to it. But as of now I feel nothing. Maybe because I just don't feel anymore....

Actally now that I think about it, I run with it off with the steering wheel button and I'm pretty sure it stays off all the time. When ever I puch the button it turns it back on. I'll have to see if this is true in the morning.

I was married for a long time, so that might explain a few things. On the brighter side I'm gonna be a grandpa any day now!!!

Congrats! Grandchildren are awesome. My granddaughter is 11, and we have a special bond. Mostly based on shared mischievousness and shared secrets (like the Smarties candies we both love that I always slip to her behind her mother's back.). My daughter was a true blessing in my life, but with grandkids you have less pressure to "parent" and can just enjoy them.

I’m really looking forward to it!
