Were the wheel spacers necessary to correct wheel rub, or was it to widen the stance? I’m looking at going with 275/70/18’s and a 2” lift myself.
BTW, I like the look of the amp powerstep when retracted.
The spacers were to widen the stance. The fender flares made the wheels look too sunk in for my taste. I wanted the wheels flush with the flares. I have a slight rub at full lock that I think I wouldn't have if I didn't have the spacers. There are guys on here running the same size setup without spacers and no rub. I really like the power steps but wish they came out a little farther when deployed. I can only put my heel on it when getting out. To me that's the whole point of retractable boards since they retract away, come out farther then fixed boards. I have a Ram Limited and the retractable boards come all the out on that truck. It's not a big deal but it would have been nice. They do deploy fast and are rock solid. The instructions were very vague so install was harder than it needed to be but doable.

Your notes about rubbing at full lock scare me. I have the Eibach 2.0 Pro Truck set up on order with +25 offset wheels. I went that way to avoid rub, but, guess I shall see soon!

Looks great! Now...Borla exhaust! Love mine with the 2.7L.
I was just thinking this truck has no sound and I like the pipes out the back. I'd love to hear some different exhausts. I want a tune as well.

Those +25 wheels are about 1.18" out from the stock wheels you might be ok with that. My tires are really tall at 33.2" and they just barely rub the liner at the tread corner. If you get the 32.6" tires like 285/65r18 you'll be fine. I think all I need to do is pull the liner back a little. It's so minor I haven't even addressed it yet.

I see you live in the Richmond, VA area. I grew up in Waynesboro and folks still live there. Are there lots of places around to go off roading there? I'm imagining the Blue Ridge Mountains have a ton of options.

This area is really convenient for just about everything. 2 hours east you're at the beach, 2 hours west your in the mountains.

Yep. Although I wouldn't move back, I now live N of Houston, I do miss the diversity of nature there. Wanting to buy 50 acres in E. TN in the next few years.

My concern is that it's gonna be annoying as hell on long highway drives. When Im between Houston and Dallas I need to be able to make business calls and I don't want some gawd awful drone. What is that like on that exhaust?
No drone. You can hear the exhaust tone change with each shift. Borla has three levels of tone. The 2.7L V6 is S-type, which is balanced between Touring and ATAK. You get on the pedal and you can hear it. ATAK is designed for the RR and more aggressive. Borla has videos for the 2.7L and their sound is what I have experienced.

my son's girlfriend's parents live in the woodlands, and so does a friend from high school.

man, that area up around livingston has grown so much. we lived in onalaska, on lake livingston back in 92-93 and all those towns were small one stop light, if they had a stop light, towns. now they are all bigger. that super walmart on 59, at the heart of livingston, my dad was the master plumber on the job., now that walmart is probably one of the older buildings in that section. they were all dry counties back then too. i wonder if its still that way?

camping in that area is probably pretty decent. lots of nice quiet peaceful areas. just watch out for ticks and copperheads and you are good.

Yeah, last time I camped there, 2021, I had a massive heart attack as a 42 year old and almost died. Haven't been back since. LOL

whoa!! dude, thats crazy. everything is alright now though? i know thats crazy and life changing because i was headed that way too. my doc caught the signs and we course corrected and so far, so good.

luckily you are still here to talk about it. you can share with people and maybe some people will see similarities in their lives and can make adjustments before they have the same thing happen
