The spacers were to widen the stance. The fender flares made the wheels look too sunk in for my taste. I wanted the wheels flush with the flares. I have a slight rub at full lock that I think I wouldn't have if I didn't have the spacers. There are guys on here running the same size setup without spacers and no rub. I really like the power steps but wish they came out a little farther when deployed. I can only put my heel on it when getting out. To me that's the whole point of retractable boards since they retract away, come out farther then fixed boards. I have a Ram Limited and the retractable boards come all the out on that truck. It's not a big deal but it would have been nice. They do deploy fast and are rock solid. The instructions were very vague so install was harder than it needed to be but doable. Were the wheel spacers necessary to correct wheel rub, or was it to widen the stance? I’m looking at going with 275/70/18’s and a 2” lift myself.
BTW, I like the look of the amp powerstep when retracted.
