So far all I've pulled is my small boat. At 1500lbs it was barely even noticeable. I'm looking forward to pulling the racecar sometime soon. It will be closer to 5200lbs, so will be a good test for the Raptor. Based on CarExpert's review of the truck pulling fully loaded I'm expecting it to be...
I use the Zoleo Communicator. Overall I'm pretty happy with it, although I'm hoping the additions to the satellite communication coming in cell phones will soon make it obsolete.
I have the Bak X4S and the clips it uses are very low profile. I don't have the cargo rail, but I suspect you might have to remove it to install the cover, but the clips would probably fit.
Now that I have it I wouldn't trade my RRaptor in for an Everest, but if Ford had released an Everest Tremor alongside the new Ranger I probably would have bought that instead.
An SUV would work better for my needs, but nothing on the market really made sense. I would have bought the new Land...
I didn't notice any leaks when I filled mine. You sure you didn't just miss the hole?
Yeah I suspect some didn't get a full fill at the factory/dealership. My bottle was empty after a month. Filled it up and its now been five months. I typically go 1.5+ years between washer fluid fills.
And I think that's part of the issue. The owner's manual doesn't say anything about it. Owner's manual says no slide in campers, but nothing else about ratings on the load box, which is pretty important on a truck. Ford even provides accessory attachment points on the bed rail, but doesn't...
Hauled a half yard of dirt today. Truck was Carolina squatting pretty good. Still had a bit of suspension left. Not much dirt to put the truck (probably) over payload. ?
I got an update about a week ago on iOS that said there were new features. As far as I can tell all they did was break the "Vehicle Health", "scheduled starts", and "Vehicle Settings" pages, that all no longer work for me.
Nobody is airing down to drive a few miles down a forest service road. I'm sure lower PSI would help, but it makes no sense in this case.
It would be nice if Ford provided alternate PSI recommendations for low payload situations. It would probably be fine to run ~33 PSI all the time as long as...
I'm also in Texas, when I bought my previous car, it already had a brow that was about 6" tall, well below the AS1. In 3 years with that car, I never had any cops hassle me over it. I really liked having it.
So on the Ranger I got a brow that goes down about 5", inline with the bottom of the...
it would be nice if Ford would provide some more detail on things like that, above the single line blurb in the owners manual that off road suspension is for off-road. I didn’t put the truck in Baja mode, because it olds gears annoyingly long in that mode for anything below 8/10ths pace.
TIL the driver has some major impact on driving a constant speed in a straight line, causing the truck to oscillate violently.
A basic ass Subaru does just fine. The truck is sprung too stiff for that use case. Probably why Motor Trend thinks the ZR2 performs better.
