It would be great of Ford could strike a licensing deal to offer offline - topo trail maps for the destination country in the center dash map app.
For a vehicle sold as off-road oriented, the lack of any trail references is a miss. (even our 'elder' 17' Gen2 Raptor offers some trail data...
Having an R variant would be nice...
35" OEM Config. "R variant" includes HOSS 3.0 rack and slightly up spec suspension bits to accommodate.
30 Gallon Fuel Cell (even a 25 gallon tank would be an upgrade!)
Improved braking feedback.
Silent/dark mode as a standard menu option
40/60 folding...
Check out Foutz's Single Tire Carrier - Quick Release Modular Bed Organizer. Easy in for off-road rips and easy out for hauling at home (and holds a jack). In one of our chase trucks we went really stealth, and used 3 Mac's 3 bolt bed-tie downs with backing plates to hold our 35" second-spare...
On the rear of the spares there were lug nuts individually zip-tied to the safety chassis. (which I thought was pretty smart fysa. )
.... speaking of chase trucks, there was a F250 diesel running in the Safari Class. It finished w/o issue, and Safari route is no cake walk either....
tbh - I love the look @Locust13CT found, but agree if you're hauling anything in the back (I'm always carting around my 501 Husq. on a carrier) 1" is about right once loaded up.
Finally back in the office / found a shot I took of the bed. There are 3 extra coolers in the back, one for oil and AT - the third one I didn't see it's spec. (Plus fast fill w/fuel cell)
I'll add that when I took a quick look under it, there were def. limit straps front and rear. Tie rods...
.. notably missing is the connection preferences. Please, no more thread on connectors - just no. Please equip the compressor with a standard QR air hose connector, and give us a QR connector to the stem.
As for the battery discussion - I'm in the camp of hauling less weight, and I don't...
It's more a camping at night thing - you unlock the vehicle or open a door and it's (exterior) illumination central. (yes I have my interior lights manually off ).
Not that I (wholly) trust chatGPT or Claude ... but they both point to a FOREscan solution.
Yea, I was thinking more straight out AC/Converter loss removal. I was checking out Ausmot for some panels but didn't see any substitution looms.
I guess I could just remove the underset ac inverter - and cannabalize the existing loom, replace endpoints with 12v taps. But... that's kind of...
.. actually that thread with G.O.A.T.S reply to the subject and experience (seemingly unnecessary if just going for a lift) seems to cover it. Thanks for sharing that ....
Anyone here considered upgrading the OEM top hat (RPG or Foutz) versus just using a spacer (GOAT)?
I've seen the GOAT video's (good info fyi) on spacers, but if I'm already digging into bumping the front end a small amount for overall clearance, why not just upgrade structural component while...
@Rousseb90 Thanks for measuring that, I've been looking for actual (not shipping, which lists at 35lb) weight for the Y rims. I have them, been considering a swap to Method 705 but might be a wash at -3lb difference.
Appreciate everyone's input/experiences here. I'm in agreement that the McMinimum is to install the sleeve/nut kit as a start.
I might decide to whip up a full replacement link that includes a pre-assembled half tie rod w/sleeve (meaning carrying just one that would work on either side is...
Ok, we all know the stock tie rods are a weak "fuse" in the 2.0 system. I'm not quite at the point to do the 74Weld and 3.0 swap, yet.
I'm considering either of the above & my questions is this : with the stock 2.0 rack, what's better? Half-Tie rod w/sleeve or full tie rod kit?
Does the...
Whoops this is what I get for skimming posts : for some reason I thought you were designing a system (including mount). Ok - that's on me .... I would have saved you all a lengthy post that wasn't exactly relevant. ( tyvm for responding though! )
I think you're on point - making the jug...
If you guys are still watching this thread - nobody makes a 5 gallon fuel jug that has slosh control. We see it every time we go ride dirt bikes, everyone's fuel jug is leaking at the top. It's unavoidable tbh with agitation and low cohesion.
So, it'd be great to have slosh control (even if...
