Both Goose and 5-star have proven that the S&B is worth about 15 hp. I run mine with both covers on, the side cover off had the sound echoing off the inner fender. SVTperformance in their YT video on the Bronco Raptor and S&B/5-star tune said that at any real speed the covers would have no...
Between Livernois and Goose there are semi-custom options, meaning they aren't canned and can be adjusted based on mods. No doubt Goose is the way to go, and I will, but my last 2 have been 5-star and they do a great job. Not canned, meaning they don't just ship you a generic file, and it's as...
I feel it's truly one of the best vehicle values for your money, and not just trucks. I have a couple other vehicles but often just hop in my RR and hit the R button.
Canned isn't a negative, it's just what it is. If you start adding mods they don't adjust the tune for them. Again, they pretty much developed the FP tune (tune file says Livernois), I'm sure their 93 tune is a nice bump from the FP tune. I'm simply saying you can get more performance for the...
Livernois is a canned tune, I'm sure it's fine but you can get better for the same money. They helped develop the FP tune and from talking with them their tune is a hopped up version of that.
Even the tuners aren't boosting torque much over the ProCal tune, there is a YouTube by SVT Performance tuning a RR with 5* and an S&B CAI, they kept it to about 560 ft/lb so only about 20 lb/ft more. Got about another 50 hp though so the top-end has room to breathe. As with Goose's...
I believe you are right about the Wagner after watching install videos. It is also FAR cheaper than the Cobb. That is the route I will end up going, no need right now since we are in the middle of the coldest winter in a long time here in Maine!
I think most folks on many platforms view Cobb as simply a tool that a good tuner can use to make custom tunes. Their OTS maps are usually very conservative. I've used them for many cars but never stuck with their tunes. A year and half ago they reached a settlement with the government and...
Ugh, Cobb won't let you turn off ASS, that sucks. My current tune basically deleted it altogether, no dash symbol and button does nothing. Curious to see the dyno results!
