I'm not sure if the oil filter is different for 2025 but there are two versions with different threads, a 22 MM thread and a 3/4 in thread. Air filter still the same.
The process is a bit complicated for 24 and older Rangers with the 2.3l but the 2025 has easier access to the filter, I reached up to the filter from underneath the vehicle without a problem.
The way I'm going to do it, when the time comes to do the first oil change, I'm going to reach up from the bottom with a filter removal tool, to break it loose then go the rest of the way by hand. I've already checked and there is ample space to get it done. Installing the new one is easy hand...
After inspecting a few things on my 25 Ranger with the 2.3L, I confirmed that there is room and it is possible to remove and install the oil filter, from underneath the vehicle, while changing the engine oil.
Synthetic blend or semi synthetic is ok but full synthetic is a step above, higher quality and less impurities. Amsoil is 100% synthetic but it's expensive. Synthetic blend is what Ford recommends as their lowest acceptable spec oil so it doesn't mean you can't upgrade and go the full synthetic...
The EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2025 Ford Ranger varies depending on the engine and drivetrain. The 2.3L EcoBoost I4 engine with rear-wheel drive (RWD) achieves 21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. With four-wheel drive (4WD), the same engine's ratings drop to 19 mpg city, 26...
Great to hear that, thanks for the info! It is messed up though, I think those are the best looking markers I've seen so far. Hopefully they'll update the design. I'm going to contact them again and make a suggestion for a design update.
I believe you are right, the previous gen OEM marker part number are totally different compared to the current gen part #. The Morimotos are advertised compatible with 19+ models. When I called the Retrofit Source, they said they would fit the current gen.
When I test drove a 24, stopping action felt weak but after test driving a 25, it felt a lot better and stronger braking without having to push the pedal too hard, I'm guessing the electric update improved the system.
Rear brake pads are slightly different, I believe the front are still the same unless choosing the heavy duty option. The engine oil pan on the 2.7 is plastic vs steel on the 2.3 though changing the oil filter on the 4 cyl is no as easy an on the 2.7. The 2.3 also is less cluttered, lots of room...
Yep, Ford didn't even announce that the 2025 Ranger was scheduled to get a new and updated 2.3 and they still advertising it with the same HP and Torque as the outgoing but it would be great if the numbers are higher.
It's great to hear that and I think it will be even better with the addition of a tonneau cover, the guys at TFL compared with or without a cover, with the cover, it showed a gain of 2 to 3 MPGs, for a ranger to get almost 30 MPG and non hybrid, that is fantastic!
