  1. $60 synth blend. $200 full synth. Which you picking?

It's not a mistake when stealerships charge for their services and parts, their quotes and what they charge are highly inflated because they have been getting away with it and most people pay these high prices because they have no other choice, so they take advantage of them. They will keep...
  2. Motor oil and filter - does it matter what kind?

There are a few companies that provide 100% synthetic oil like Amsoil and a few others but their products are expensive and you can get the same protection and durability with full synthetic brands like Penzoil, valvoline, mobil 1, etc. Like I stated before, I can get Penzoil ultra platinum and...
  3. Motor oil and filter - does it matter what kind?

Penzoil ultra platinum and purolator filter is what I use, less than 50 bucks, I change my own, valvomax drain valve, removing and installing the new filter is a little tricky but not too difficult.
  4. Side Curtain Recall

I'm still holding, not in a hurry to get it done and might not even get it done but another recall might come down the pipe and might not have a choice then. I've contacted my dealership service department via email for some details and haven't received a response so I'm not worried about it.
  5. Skipping 2nd?

Zero skips for me, driven in normal mode since purchase in Jun, 8K mi. now and no issues of any kind except the two recalls.
  6. Easy tire question for the knowledgeable (not me)

You will also have an error on your speedometer when going with taller tires, not a big deal though.
  7. 1998 ranger versus 2024 ranger

I don't think new gen Rangers will outcast the old ones, I currently own a 98, in addition to the 25, V6 with 314K miles, original motor, replaced the transmission, clutch twice and a bunch of radiators but runs like a champ and I keep it in top shape. A true work horse.
  8. Airbag recall fix didn’t go well (wait if you can)

I had a similar experience with a stealership, different brand, they will tell you anything and avoid answering questions.
  9. What to do when switching from synthetic blend to full synthetic oil?

I forgot 2.7 comes with a plastic pan but there is a valve designed for the 2.7, by roninfactory.com $65
  10. What to do when switching from synthetic blend to full synthetic oil?

Valvomax or Fumoto drain valves and no more worrying about drain plugs.
  11. Tail Lamp Replacement - Does blind spot sensor require recalibration or programing?

I'm guessing it probably won't. Harder step to remove the lamp unit is unsnapping while pulling back to remove it. It's secured by two bolts, take no more than 5 to 10 mins. As far as calibration for the sensor, don't seem like a component that would require any specific or specialized measures...
  12. New truck wish list of accessories

Yep, Ford cheaped out on 6g. 5g came with rear led units, I'm not sure about Raptors.
  13. New truck wish list of accessories

That's incorrect, the rear turn signal bulbs and reverse light bulbs are incandescent and the assembly is not sealed, it was one of the upgrades that I did on mine, real easy to do, I got Auxito led, built in resistors and no hyper flash.
  14. Recall Air Bag Part Number

All this labor intense and techs damaging other components just to install a 12 bucks part.
  15. Airbag recall fix didn’t go well (wait if you can)

I was a bit concerned about this even before you mentioned it. I don't deal with dealerships unless I'm purchasing a new ride or if I have a problem that I can't solve myself due to not having the necessary tools or equipment to fix it and even then I rely on well established independent shops...
  16. 25 Ford Ranger XLT with damage from factory

I was wondering the same thing, 60K seems a bit high.
  17. 25 Ford Ranger XLT with damage from factory

I hear so many stories of owners having to deal with this, it is so messed up that they don't even inform clients. This is why is so important and imperative not to sign, accept or agree to anything until the vehicle is checked, inspected and even test driven by the prospective owner and once...
