I didn’t get a recall for the Raptor but did on the Bronco and no issue with the fix.The dealership said they have done a lot of them so they have it down
oh they have it down alright. got my ranger back yesterday and its going right back. tech got oil finger prints on the fabric roof interior above a, b, and c pillar. center and rear center. looks like a chimney sweeper was playing padiddle in my truck. zero damage aside from that.

Done, went fine without issue. Service advisor convinced me to do it as he said they’ve done a few and he said that the risk is the airbag could go off unexpectedly. I’m not sure how true that is, but what motivated me was that I’m getting a new aftermarket stereo installed and I didn’t want them tearing out the interior after I had the stereo done.

Not sure where you got this info, but the parts are not on back order and the fix is not a big deal if you have a good dealer to work with. I have zero issues as did most who get it done. Worse case it is all under warranty anyways.
I don't think he's talking about the air bag parts. Some people's trim is getting damaged, and THAT may be on back order.

I don't think he's talking about the air bag parts. Some people's trim is getting damaged, and THAT may be on back order.
Yes I figured as much after reading the post again!

That's also my fear

I needed an oil change so I called my local Ford Dealer at around 10am told them I needed an oil change and the side curtain recall fixed. He said no problem, bring it in at 2pm. I asked how late they were open and he said 7:30pm.

I dropped my truck off at 2:00pm at 5:30 the dealer calls me and say if I want the side curtain recall fixed I would have to leave it overnight. Then he blames me saying, you didn't tell the whole fabric ceiling needs to be pulled out. You would think a service manger would know what's involved in a recall. I told him to forget it and I picked up the truck and paid for the oil change.

This is a bad dealer. If you don't pay cash or use a debit card they change you an additional 3%.

All these issues, I am surprised there are so many bad dealerships out there. I can see some wanting the vehicle longer, as it is warranty work and they set that aside over billable work, so they just tell you longer so they can decide when to do it. But doing it and not knowing how or breaking shit or fingerprints, no excuse. I did mine at my local dealer in less than two hours and never know it was done. and it was NOT a senior tech who did it.

I'm still holding, not in a hurry to get it done and might not even get it done but another recall might come down the pipe and might not have a choice then. I've contacted my dealership service department via email for some details and haven't received a response so I'm not worried about it.

My selling dealer also contacted me about the recall. As it’s an airbag safety recall, the dealer recommended it be done soon. However, I am 1400 miles from them, and my experience with the local dealer is not good, so I choose to wait until a later date. Told my dealer I will avoid rolling the truck over in the meantime! He understood, and said just let him know when I was back in the neighborhood.

Recall was completed without any issues. I have family with me most of the time, so I'd rather have them protected as much as possible by the truck than worry about dealer-caused damage to it.

Is anyone still holding off on getting the Side Curtain Recall done for fear of the tech damaging the plastics and headliner? My dealer keeps contacting me to get it done but I'm not confident that it will be done neatly and without damage.
For those that have had it done how did it go?
I just had mine done with no issues with the work. The only problem was the dealer kept it overnight because the parts that were sent did not have new clips to replace the removed ones. The new clips came the next morning and I picked up my truck that morning. Can't even tell anything was replaced.

I had a friend who worked at a Dodge dealer and he told me stories of people getting upset because their car had to wait for warranty to be done first. He told me warranty work always get a priority. Plus, warranty work is billable work to the manufacturer.

Maybe that has changed and Ford sets warranty aside like you said
