Dealer called me the same day I got the notice in the mail. Set up mobile service for it. Tech spent 10 min in the driveway and done.

Everybody got it. You'll have to take it to the dealer for reprogramming. For some reason, Rangers can't get the update OTA.

Dealer did mobile service for me. Tech said since a safety recall they need to do it in person and make sure its signed off. They, the Tech, actually needs to enter a tracking code to ensure its done apparently.

I still hold out hope it will eventually be OTA. The electric brake booster update took some time before it was available OTA.

if you are towing things, it would be best to get it updated at a dealer, now.

Wonder where you can verify that the new software is installed. I see updates of other installs but not this one. Trailer Module Software. (26C10)

Got a notification message on the truck display 2 days before, then the night before last I got the update with a message on the display stating it had been installed when I turned it on that morning. This is the third OTA update in the last 2 months. No issues so far.

Mine showed up as the usual software announcement screen and clicking details showed the installation details. Ford may be rolling it out over a period of time or maybe your vehicle VIN isn't affected.
