Got my notification for this on my truck too. Sounds a bit ridiculous and I won't be taking my truck in for this. I skipped the one for the airbag clip recall or whatever that could cut into the side curtain airbag upon deployment. I'll take my chances. Not having them take all those interior pieces apart and hope they put it back together correctly again.
Yeah, them taking it apart and putting it back together has a higher chance of causing more issues than what the recall is for.

Then you have a different problem This recall is for wiring for the sun visor mirror lamp, nothing the rear sliding window.
The recall is for a short. If the rear window is open there may be more airflow disturbing the wiring and it is shorting. That does sound like what the recall is for.

Rather than in the visor, it looks like it is the wiring in the pillar where it goes through a small opening. I believe that wiring is there in all vehicles, even those without a visor light.

I was wondering if there is a fuse that can be temporarily removed to kill power to this circuit without affecting other lighting?

EXACTLY! All I am saying is try it... turn down the radio and at speeds over 45mph. It crackles in the headliner area - could be from the visor, who knows.

I read no such advisory. The park outside box is not checked.

"Ford Ranger stop-sale in the US, no impact for AustraliaFord has issued stop-sale orders and recalls for 2024–2026 Ford Ranger trucks due to serious safety issues. Key recalls include over 100,000 units for side curtain airbag failures (25C41/25V541) and over 140,000 units for fire risks linked to wiring faults in the A-pillar (26Sxx). Owners are advised to park outside and contact a dealer"
I read this on the Australian forum... it is for the US does not affect them. If it starts a fire, I would rather not burn my house down... do what you will.

Ii did find some news outlets saying don’t park inside. They seem to be misreading the NHTSA bulletin. I agree it is confusing.

but I can’t find a single place ford or the NHTSA say park outside.

if you feel safer with your truck outside, that is where it should be.

my dealer keeps asking me when I'm going to schedule my airbag recall ? I'm going in there Friday may 1 for an oil change ,now there is yet another recall. I think I'm going to tell the service manager "At the end of the year I'm going to collect all the recalls I can save them up, then have them all done at the same time. "
I'm at my Ford dealer now and guess what? ..............I have a 3rd recall that I didnt even know about. Some kind of recall on the front seat adjustment?.........Damn Ford, 3 recalls in 6 months now:shock:

I just had my 2024 at the dealer for the Air bag and trailer update.
I was hoping they could take care of the A pillar at the same time so they wouldn't have to drop the headliner twice.
No can do. They said Ford is doing it in segments and mine won't be due until some time in June.
Darn.

Will a normal obd-ii scanner report B14AA if we have had a short? Ex: bludriver? I tried reading their help manual and (I think) it says B-code BCM interior lights are an included category.

Is dealer the only one that can read if we've had the fault?

I have a Ranger on order with a build date in late May. Does Ford normally fix issues on the line first when there's a recall? Or is it possible to have this recall when I take delivery?
Look at the dates the last one that it applies to is Dec, 2025.
