I'm pretty certain there is a restriction of some kind...couldn't tell you if there are possible workarounds. The tune says North America only, and still only 49 states in the US
You gotta understand that some of these folks have owned imports in the past where the manufacturer WOULD blackball your entire vehicle from any warranty claims nationwide if tuned. AFAIK Ford has never had a policy like that, and my experience w/my Bronco and the Ford tune has been that there...
So after a little driving here's my observations:
Unfortunately the tune DOES NOT give you ASS memory...you still gotta shut it off every time☹️
Definitely increases max boost, and boost is more aggressive! I am seeing 23-24 psi when hard into it. Didn't see boost in that range before, it...
Short answer is they don't, and likely don't care...it's called an "out". If you come in w/a connecting rod sticking out the side of your block they are gonna try and get out of warrantying that any way possible...tune or no. Save your receipt, or have one made up. Only time I had the Bronco...
Recieved mine today, and installed right away. For reference I own an ASE independent shop, and I am a former Ford dealer tech, so I do mine myself, but, ANYBODY could do this...there's literally no way to screw it up. Unlike Bronco, it worked properly right out of the box. Also I DID notice...
I did the same HOWEVER, they did remove that feature for CA compliance...so DO NOT update your tune, if you wish to keep that feature! I am hoping while RR is in the "49 state" phase we can expect the same, then that feature will be removed later? Remains to be seen if that's how it's gonna work
That's how it's "supposed" to work. My Bronco refuses to do that tho...says original file is corrupted. Don't know how that happened, but I don't need to flash back for any reason really
Yes...I have mixed it w/various octane fuels at different concentrations for different vehicles. Directions are on the back for desired octane. Really helps w/ old musclecar era big v-8s, and large bore harleys!
I have the FP tune on my Bronco, and when we took it to Moab, there were a few stops in CO which didn't have any premium, and I had no choice but to get fuel. I had no problems, just filled w/whatever was best available
Where I live 91 is the "preferred" premium unleaded. 93 is E10, 91 is E0. I use both depending on where I stop for fuel (E10 is mandated in emissions controlled counties). Performance is about equal between the two, but mileage is better w/91. The tune (at least on Bronco) will actually run...
We went through all of this w/6g Bronco as well...it's actually REALLY simple. You can do all the steps up until you push the button to flash your engine computer, and have everything ready to go so all the tech has to do is push the "ok" button if you wish. Realistically he doesn't even need...
I don't see anything saying I can't run the FP tune on a truck that isn't on 33s. Weird that it says "cannot" be adjusted tho. I gotta believe that's a typo. Either way, if that feature isn't included w/procal, it can be done w/forscan
Why do you say this? And where are you getting this information about the tune? I have the FP tune on my Bronco w/40s, why is RR tune restricted to certain tire sizes?
