Do you reckon it's lifted or just stock?
I wonder why they didn't opt for the Ford bead lock wheels.
One thing is for sure, they have maintained the standard utes nose-down stance. I'd suggest there is something in that.
I also note that the wheels aren't sticking out the side of the guards...
As I have got older and (hopefully) wiser, I have become more and more suspect when it comes to aftermarket wheels. The reality is that the car companies do a huge amount of engineering to ensure that the wheels they supply on a car are as good as they can be for the price. This shows when you...
drive.com.au report Raptor consumption as:
10L/100km for highway
14L/100km for urban and
11.5L/100km for the combined cycle
"Alongside the 11.5L/100km combined claim, the Green Vehicle Guide claims lists urban and highway fuel consumption for the new Ford Ranger Raptor petrol V6 of 14L/100km...
Yep, I think I might end up going down the soft tonneau path in the end. I think the BAK X4s will be expensive in Aus for what it is.
I'm also keen to be able to put a rack on the back for touring and the only things compatible with that idea the retractable cover (robbing you of tub space)...
Thanks Bill, really appreciate that.
I don't know why I couldn't find that video when I was looking for the information.
I think It would be really great if we could use low-range with the clutch and then only engage the dog when absolutely needed. This is the type of behaviour we get on...
I can't comment on the HSP but I do note that sealing on the Raptor or any other variant that does not have the plastic bed liner is something that needs to be solved. The gaps between the tailgate and the tub are enormous. If there is no solution to this by the time my vehicle arrives I will...
Still waiting patiently here as well (expecting Feb or March for my Ranger Raptor to arrive) however on some FB groups (if you can be bothered wasting your time for very little return) there are some infrequent reports of the following issues (not exhaustive):
Media screen lock-ups
Exhaust mode...
There have also been roomers that there will be another update coming toward the end of 2023 that might actually contain some changes (and more price rises). I don't know what those changes could be but I for one would like to see head-up display - it's too late for me though.
In Australia, the first batch of Ranger Raptors are not available with a factory option for a bed cover (they can be optioned on 2023.5 models but not for anything before then). So the given the need (desire) for a bed cover, what are peoples preferred options?
If we could get them in Aus then...
Doing some research into how the 4wd system works in the next-gen Rangers with the permanent all wheel drive transmission I came across this article on Blue Oval Trucks that does a good job of explaining things.
So looks like the answer is that the transmission uses a centre clutch which is...
Ford anti-lag patent
For the mechanical engineers amongst the group, I think you'll be interested in a Ford patent describing a turbo anti-lag method.
My suspicion is that this is how the RR anti-lag operates.
Lot's of detailed descriptions here so admittedly not to everyone's taste.
Thought I'd kick things off here with a link to Paul Marin's "Dragparison" between the three Ranger engine variants. No prizes for guessing which one wins but there is some great information for everyone in this article and the accompanying YouTube vid.
