  1. Have Any Rangers Come Off The Assembly Line Post Strike?

You must be new here. Only part of your post I'd agree with is they're probably done producing 2023 Rangers. Last I saw is they will restart 2024 production with quality runs and media samples. Remember Thanksgiving break is coming up, then a couple weeks back building before Christmas break...
  2. NHTSA - Ford 2.7 & 3.0 biturbo engine reliability

They switched to a different alloy. Sounds like they addressed any "underlying issues" to me. What more are you expecting?
  3. UAW and Ford Reach Tentative Agreement

actually, we do. It's called proof of concept. As an engineer you should know this. I spent decades in hi tech sector engineering and many project proposals get shot down after honest analysis says it can't be done as was proposed. What we have here is an ideology masking as critical government...
  4. UAW and Ford Reach Tentative Agreement

The bottom has basically fallen out of the EV adoption house of cards over the last couple weeks. Everybody cancelling, postponing or scaling back commitments for the all EV future by a fixed date. I said at the time Ford was covering their bases for this when they split the company into 2 main...
  5. Udpated UAW Strike Information?

not in my case. my Maverick is holding steady between $28-31k on kbb trade-in values. A little up, a little down, repeat. I only paid $26k and change OTD 1 year ago.
  6. Udpated UAW Strike Information?

They can move production to another country that doesn't have unions in automobile factories and lower labor costs. Plenty of that established already. Won't be surprised to see more and more as strikes cripple companies and make unjustifiable demands while doing it.
  7. Future of cars is a subscription nightmare

It's still happening, but apparently implementation has been changed a bit to give manufacturers a little room for variation of ways to achieve the same goal of preventing drivers from using their vehicle buzzed. Something about more detection methods with sensors and examining your eyes instead...
  8. Future of cars is a subscription nightmare

You can change settings in your phone to eliminate most the location tracking and collection of personal habits and data.
  9. Future of cars is a subscription nightmare

The insurance companies try to get you to voluntarily collect your driving habits with a plug-in module, under the guise of lower rates for better driving habits as they interpret it. Congress on the other issues mandates and legislation for invasive data collection from your vehicle...
  10. Future of cars is a subscription nightmare

yeah, I posted on that some time ago here: specifically Toyota caught a lot of heat for notifying existing customers that previously standard features in their cars like heated seats, steering wheels, remote start, etc. would start receiving monthly billings or those features would be disabled...
  11. Enthusiasm waning.......

no. no need or use for the RR. I'm only interested in base XL Ranger whenever it comes to USA with SCab + 6' bed- and 2WD. Add the locking rear differential and tow package, or alternately Nissan Frontier King Cab S 2WD + add towing package and I'm set replacing the Maverick. Speaking of MPG...
  12. Enthusiasm waning.......

Keep the Maverick. Mine is 2 weeks short of 1 years old and kbb and other sites are showing trade in value 2-5 k higher than what I paid OTD. It's just an XL with 2.0 AWD and 4k tow but nothing special. Like the MPG and versatility low cost of ownership while waiting for the dust to settle to...
  13. Enthusiasm waning.......

My Thinking? This is 100% out of my control, so spending 0% of my time ruminating on minutiae here. I went through the Maverick experience and eventually got my truck with no stress or regret. Decided I will only check here every couple days since all is frozen due to strike and really nothing...
  14. Anyone has a built date or delivery date?

seriously? Guess you don't know there is a strike? No dates of any kind will be set until aftermath of strike ending and production capabilities sorted out.
  15. Tired of waiting.

did you research the MPG and repairs issues on them 1st? Add that to them being overpriced due to Jeep name/legend and it doesn't seem like a viable option to me getting a SCab with 6' bed at a fair price. You do you :like:
  16. Tired of waiting.

you're kidding yourself if you think there will be plentiful Tacomas on lots to choose from. Toyota doesn't take orders, so you have to be willing to take whatever they come up with and no haggling on price or incentives. Nissan doing same thing. May work for some people, but not for me.
  17. STANDARD Ranger vs Colorado (not comparing ZR2 and Raptor)

I'm not in a big hurry to step up into a mid-size since I received my Maverick last November to hold me over until new Rangers came out. I ONLY want a SCab with 6' bed 2wd configuration. That leaves Ranger whenever they introduce more configurations for us in USA, or Nissan King Cab for me. I...
  18. How many allocations?

all comments on allocations by Ford were made before the strike and it was never a factor. I wouldn't count on them honoring anything more than the 1 Raptor to each dealer promise for 2023 calendar (not model) year.
  19. Should we just get a Tacoma?

Not sure how you arrived at that being the major reason? Some do, but not all of us. I am flat out not interested in another CrewCab with short bed only truck. Already have a Maverick and it was always intended to be a stop gap measure until an SCab with 6' bed configuration arrives in NA. I'm...
  20. Should we just get a Tacoma?

curious how you were happy driving those 2 trucks for so long- then BOOM! something tripped your trigger to GOTTA HAVE IT NOW!!!!! Patience is mandatory here to keep from making a purchase you may regret when Ford does finally roll out most all the ROW configurations in the US. It absolutely...
