The Parts Guy at my local Dealership looked at my truck, and then looked in his computer at the schematic of every part on this truck, and he concluded that this is not a 'part' of this truck, but is something left over from the manufacturing process.
I used a wooden yard stick to remove it...
Is it on both sides (driver side & passenger side), or just on one side (which side)?
Mine is only on the driver side; and I have a lot of road noise coming from the rear passenger side, so I wonder if this insulation (which is missing on my passenger side) would quiet down the road noise...

The Stubby Junior is only 2", and the same height as the 'Shark Fin' Antenna.

I don't know about 'how much room' there is when I turn; but there is no rubbing at all.
There's about 1/4" clearance between the steering knuckle and the inside tire sidewall; so anything wider would probably not fit with these stock wheels (+55 Offset).
