Heading into a headwind for hours can really mess with the range estimate. My last trip had me pulling into my scheduled stop with about 4-5 miles left. That was fun.
During the break in period I saw 18.8 over like 200 miles. But that was on backroads and was no more than 65. I have another...
Illinois is dual plate as well. The license plate holder for the Raptor is no drill and doesn't interfere with the sensors. Do not know how the XL/XLT/Lariat version works.
It does look a lot better without though.
I like the look of those as well. Not sure the ergonomics of reaching over the cross braces to roll up the cover would be ideal for me though. Ditching the cover altogether might be my better option.
This is the front runner for me.

It's not that weird, they just entered into the dealer's pool for one. When I ordered mine in April, I was not the only order on the books at my local dealer waiting for an allocation.
That is correct. All dealerships are not created equally and dealers can go months without getting one. Long McArthur’s YouTube channel has a series about scheduling that always explains how the system works at the beginning.
They can certainly place an order for 25 still (the order banks are still open). If you wanted a XL, XLT or Lariat and they had a Ranger allocation, I doubt there would be any likely issues getting it scheduled for December. Raptors are limited editions, with separate allocations from the...
Ford does not rollover unallocated orders from model year to model year. Your dealer might do that for you, but that is up to you and your dealer.
Your dealer can change the priority code of the order, but that is for their allocations only.
Allocations happen all year long, based on sales...
I think they start scheduling for December this week so, you are probably more likely to have to order a MY26. Long McArthur Ford on YouTube has a weekly episode about scheduling and how the whole process works.
I'm kinda intrigued to see this happen... but alas I do not have a straight edge long enough to accurately measure the width of the cover. I can say that the height of the rail itself is like 1/4" and the gasket effectively butts up against the cutout for the stake pocket cover at the tailgate...
Exiting is not as firmly entrenched in my muscle memory as entry. It seems like I do something different every time. Sometimes it is the reverse of how I enter. Sometimes it is a partial turn and out. Sometimes I use the step, sometimes I just launch myself out. I never really know how that...
