  1. Mega audio upgrade -- sound deadening, speakers, stealthbox sub, GMRS radio

Yeah makes sense about the grille. I dented mine by leaning on it but was able to pull the dent out with a little picking tool. Hopefully the spacing is fine, I think the bottom of the seat is soft. I guess no jumping on that seat ? I'm getting a little weirded out by the space constraint and...
  2. Mega audio upgrade -- sound deadening, speakers, stealthbox sub, GMRS radio

Went back and added some memory foam to the rear door panels to mash up against the speakers. https://amzn.to/42Ut42S Cut the ring into pieces to go around the door panel side instead of sticking to the speaker itself. Put in two layers, thickest towards the rear of the vehicle since the...
  3. Mega audio upgrade -- sound deadening, speakers, stealthbox sub, GMRS radio

Thanks! Answers to your questions: - Yes, those speakers are plug-and-play. They have the same adapter as the stock speaker so you just unplug the old ones and plug in the new ones. Mounting holes in the right spots to reuse the mounting screws etc. Takes like 5 mins if you're just doing...
  4. What did you DO TO your 6G Ranger today? 🧰 🛠️ ⚙️ 🧽

Finally finished my audio upgrades: https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/mega-audio-upgrade-sound-deadening-speakers-stealthbox-sub-gmrs-radio.15893 Replaced the speakers, added sound deadening, replaced the sub, added a GMRS radio and antenna.
  5. Mega audio upgrade -- sound deadening, speakers, stealthbox sub, GMRS radio

I finally finished the audio upgrades I had been planning for a while. Replaced the door speakers, put in sound deadening in the roof, doors, back wall and under the rear seats. Replaced the stock subwoofer with a JL 10" stealthbox sub, mounted the amp and Midland GMRS radio on the back wall...
  6. DIY Bullet Point Mounting Solution install using center speaker cover and 1/8" aluminum plate

Even better, these receivers (like the Midland MXT575) let you control everything from that handset so you never need to do anything with the actual radio body.
  7. Has anyone removed the rear RR bulkhead liner?

So the instructions are the same for the 6G. Remove left and right rear headrests Flip seat up Torx T50 for the seatbelt carriers Unplug the center seatbelt sensor plug and fish the center seatbelt up through the seat Fish the seatbelt sockets through the bottom of the seat, there's some...
  8. Has anyone removed the rear RR bulkhead liner?

My general plan was to remove the back seat and then go at it. I tried taking things down with the back seats in place and it seems like there's a lot of bits to get to under the seat. This video shows how to remove the rear seat, it's from the 5th gen ranger but I'm guessing it's pretty close...
  9. DIY Bullet Point Mounting Solution install using center speaker cover and 1/8" aluminum plate

That's nice and clean -- did you just run the cable inside the storage box or is it easy to remove those trim panels? I'm looking to put the radio on the back wall and do this same kind of setup for the handset (or maybe under the driver's side somewhere under the trailer controller or...
  10. DIY Bullet Point Mounting Solution install using center speaker cover and 1/8" aluminum plate

Sorry, to each their own, but this looks like a huge mess. You can mount that radio anywhere and run a cable to the handset instead of having it up on the dash blocking the center channel speaker.
  11. Ford Motor Company Announcement

LOL, my only interaction with them was fully useless anyway. Hopefully can save some money by not paying people to tell you to call the local service center.
  12. What did you DO TO your 6G Ranger today? 🧰 🛠️ ⚙️ 🧽

Replaced the door speakers with Focal IS 690 up front and Focal IC 165 in the back. Put in sound deadening in the doors while it was taken apart. So-far sounds better, more bass, more definition and just "cleaner" overall. The IS 690 up front is identical to the stock speakers. The IC 165 in...
  13. Focal IS Ford 165 and 690 speaker replacement question

Parts links: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_091ISFOR69/Focal-Inside-IS-FORD-690.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_091ICFOR65/Focal-Inside-IC-FORD-165.html I used the "Focal INSIDE IS Ford 690" for the fronts and the "Focal INSIDE IC Ford 165" for the rear. The IS 690 up front is identical to...
  14. Focal IS Ford 165 and 690 speaker replacement question

I just did this today -- replaced the door speakers with the 690 and 165, also put in sound deadening. I didn't do the tweeters in the A-pillar just because it's a pain to take apart. Might do those later. I think it's worth it, the Focal speakers do sound quite a bit better. Better...
  15. Was there a definte Change for the Bed Support?

Same question... Door placard just says the month, I'm also 9/24. Ford's "social media" people here said to lookup recalls by VIN and said mine was in the recall, then when I tried with the VIN it said it wasn't. ?‍♂️
  16. Audio Upgrade Review! JL Audio Stealthbox + Sound Good Stereo Kicker LOC + AudioControl 1.300 Amp

All the parts showed up! Just waiting for time with the installer in late January. The Stealthbox only took about a week to show up even with holidays etc, was worried they had parts on deep backorder or something. Parts on hand: - JL 10" Stealthbox - JL JD500/1 amp and remote bass adjustment...
  17. What did you DO TO your 6G Ranger today? 🧰 🛠️ ⚙️ 🧽

Decided to bite the bullet today and take the headliner down, install some sound deadening in the roof. Ran a cable for a rear facing dash cam and also installed a 3rd brake light GMRS antenna mount from Bulletproof Diesel. It's a really nice mount and super clean once it's all done. I put in...
  18. Audio Upgrade Review! JL Audio Stealthbox + Sound Good Stereo Kicker LOC + AudioControl 1.300 Amp

Thanks for this write up, ordered almost all the parts -- did you get the sub from Crutchfield? They show it on unknown length backorder :(
  19. RR in I70 Blizzard and Moab in early November

Not needed. Unless you are running the "performance calibration" (which is just a 91/93 octane tune) then you can run regular gas. Colorado is high altitude so we get 85 / 87 / 91 options, you can run on 85 here no problem.
  20. RR in I70 Blizzard and Moab in early November

They were great honestly. I do have weight in the bed which helps, but the K03s worked really well. More snow in Colorado today so will do some more testing... For science. Overall the RR is very well behaved in snow/ice, especially in 4A or 4H. Obviously suffers from the usual...
