Has anyone replaced the front and back door speakers on your RR with Focal IS 165 and 690 speakers without replacing anything else?

If so, your impressions?

I am planning on adding sound deadening to my doors and want to replace only the four speakers at this time while I have the door panels off.

thanks!

I just did this today -- replaced the door speakers with the 690 and 165, also put in sound deadening. I didn't do the tweeters in the A-pillar just because it's a pain to take apart. Might do those later. I think it's worth it, the Focal speakers do sound quite a bit better. Better definition overall and better bass. Sound deadening helps with road noise too, pretty happy with the results.

Both IS and not IC’s?

Parts links:

I used the "Focal INSIDE IS Ford 690" for the fronts and the "Focal INSIDE IC Ford 165" for the rear.

The IS 690 up front is identical to the stock speakers. The IC 165 in the back is the right size, but the stock speaker bracket sticks out a little more and is at an angle. I think it's still the right part, as the "IC" version has the tweeter mounted above the main speaker (vs the "IS" version has a separate tweeter). The stock rear speakers have an integrated tweeter suspended above the main speaker, so I still think the IC 165 is correct for the rear.

I did the same thing in my f150 & ranger. Slowly accumulating items for my 2025 RR, it's to be built in early June. By chance did you see or buy any wiring adapter kits to go from our Rangers to Focal speakers?

Nope -- the Focal speakers (those specific models listed) have the same plug as the stock speakers so you just unplug them and plug in the new speakers.

For my '25 the shop that installed them said the adapter harness for the tweeters was different and they had to get another one from their supplier.

I have them saved in my Amazon favorites list along with Kicker 51KSC3504 KS-Series 3.5 for the dash, at least I can use the 2nd one this time, I'll put it in my wife's Bronco sport. Kicker 46KST2504 KS-Series KST250 1" tweeters w/Crossovers are also on my list. I'm hoping that the small crossover might fit in behind the tweeter instead of sticking it in the door. Anyone else have any hiding places for tweeter crossovers?
I also have a 4 channel small amp and the 8" Kicker sub & amp combo in my list for later.
