Has anyone tried spray painting the speaker grill with something more matte? The grill pops right off and I have been really tempted to just hit it with matte black to knock down the shine.
Yup, +1 on all that -- I'd also pick up that trim clip pliers from an early post on this thread. Honestly the door panels are really easy to take off and put back on, speaker swap and sound deadening is easy. The headliner is a big pain, though.
I think it would fit vertically, but not 100% sure. You would still need to grind down the bracket to get the plugs to click into place. Also you will really want to grind off the existing bracket which is welded to the bottom of the bumper.
Did they actually test against the Siless Hybrid 3in1? It's not listed in that comparison. They have a couple other much thinner items they tested against but I don't see that one.
All I can say is I used the 200 mil Siless Hybrid and it made a huge difference (even without replacing the...
That's what I used, works great. This one also has a mylar backing (instead of metal) so it's easier to cut and doesn't shred your hands.
I think you could do all four doors with one box. The sheets are large and I think I used 3 in each front door and 2 in each back door.
Nice! I put product and tool links in my post about sound deadening, speaker replacements etc: https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/mega-audio-upgrade-sound-deadening-speakers-stealthbox-sub-gmrs-radio.15893
The sound deadening and speaker replacement makes a HUGE difference.
I have the SDHQ setup, havn't had any problems -- just got back from 1,500 miles to/from Moab and about 350 miles off road. No issues so-far.
The pirate camp one looks like it would not work with any of the aftermarket air intakes. At least the S&B I use definitely fills back to under the the...
I don't know of anyone making them -- I made one using parts from Amazon, a heat gun and a jigsaw. It was not as hard as I thought it would be. This thread includes measurements for the bracing etc...
Did the install today, I went with the non-oiled filter. No clearance issues with the hood, etc. A bit awkward getting things in place with all the heavy rubber seals and clamps, but the kit is really well made and does fit perfectly. Install took around an hour.
Flashed the Ford Performance...
Next up! Installed the S&B intake and flashed the Ford Performance Calibration. Drained the tank down to 6 miles to empty, filled up with 91, went home and updated. Took maybe 20 mins, not including signing up for the web account etc. Flashing was easy as long as you have a MS Windows laptop...
That's good to know -- IMO, never understood why people would remove that side panel, air in the engine bay is warm.
BTW, this intake is supposed to show up tomorrow. Can't wait!
I installed an ARB twin compressor using an SDHQ mounting bracket, wiring extension and compressor filter relocation kit. This places the compressor behind the driver's side rear wheel right above the muffler (note this kit is not compatible with the bumper side step option which is available...
I relocated the trailer hitch wiring to the bumper using this kit: https://americanadventurelab.com/product/ford-ranger-trailer-plug-tuck-kit/
Worked super easy, had to grind down the inside of the adapter a little to get the trailer plug to click into place. Looks good and was an excuse to...
Installed this yesterday, was really easy. Had to grind down the tab on the adapter a little to get the harness to click into place, but that's it. Also a good excuse to finally buy a cutoff weel ?
Really happy with the results!
Just put in an order for this -- curious to see how it goes! Hopefully can do an install this weekend if I get motivated.
Also FYI, they confirmed that the bracket does NOT fit the new brushless compressor. Different mounting pattern (why ARB would do that is beyond me) as well as an...
