I got the Rival Bumper, I've been happy with their skid plates and I like the look (not just a bunch of round tube bends). I'll do a whole writeup once I've tweaked a couple things but:
This is the 20 inch "SR Series Pro" lightbar hooked to switch #6... 17,000 lumens is a lot haha.
I was looking at this more (just finishing up a bumper & light bar install) and if you are using switch #6, that location has both a power and a ground. I just used this for a light bar.
This is just saying don't bypass the little battery monitor module on the negative terminal and go direct to the battery at the post. The "note" here is saying that accessories use power.
If you look at the battery, on the negative terminal there's a little box attached. Grounding "after"...
I would just run a wire to one of the terminals on the negative side of the battery. The power for switch #1 is basically next to the battery anyway so you'll have to run wires already.
Yeah -- I did it solo and getting it down is not too hard, getting it back in place would have been easier with a helper. There's a magnetic catch and some clips to align when putting it back up and that got a bit awkward.
But like others have said -- just got slow, keep the clips and screws...
Recline the power seats before you disconnect the battery and start dismantling. It's annoying but the deadening makes a big difference.
This video was helpful:
I wish they had a couple braces at the right angles there, that would help a lot. These do look good and are nicely tucked in though! Just add some bracing at those corners and get a Raptor version going!
Thanks for the clarification -- do the instructions show how to do the extra wiring? The setup that @pasali describes seems ideal. Also I am very comfortable with vehicle electrical mods.
How did you wire up the fog lights? My understanding was they are plug-and-play for the clear lamp but that you can also wire in the ambers separately from those lights.
I can't wait for this to show up -- I also picked it up before the hike, even at $2400 it seems like a good value, I have been happy with the skid plates and like you said, the other options are so far pretty bad.
Fit and finish seems great on these and the bumper checks all the boxes I had...
That seems strange to me -- it fits the Gen5 (2019-2023) as well as the Gen6 (2024) so I would be surprised if Ford changed the shape of that under-seat area for the 2025.
No. Are you sure it's fully shut? I've had multiple people complain they have to "slam" the hood, and I do have to drop it from a good 18-24 inches for it to actually shut, but it doesn't wobble or shake on.
Yeah I have 50% on the windshield tinted as well. I'm mostly just annoyed looking at dashcam footage vs my own glare. I'll never go back to having non-tinted windshields, I thought it would be so dark and unusable at night but it's amazing.
