Anecdotal, but a buddy of mine said that when he's on a long drive in his wife's VW SUV, if you wedge a half-filled water bottle through one of the steering wheel holes, it jiggles around just enough to fool the "keep your hands on the steering wheel" sensor.

I have automatic updates on, but I haven't noticed getting a single update, yet, since I bought it two months back. 2025 RR

I did that, going off of memory of what I had read here, and they pushed back. It wasn't like they were trying to charge me any more, I think they were just ignorant.

I have mine installed because the ding dong dealership assured me that it wouldn't work if I didn't. Mine also stays turned on when I turn the truck off but eventually I noticed it goes to sleep.

My exact scenario. I paid a lot more for the tuner and the install than most in this thread, unfortunately.

I checked when I left the dealer and it said it had the performance tune on it. I'd triple check, though. I've only had the tune on for six days and haven't driven a ton, so I'll reserve judgement.

I have it in Sport quite a bit, but haven't gone WOT yet. I usually don't do that unless I have to. I wish I had done a 0-60 before/after, but I'm really not that worried about it.

I just got the ProCal installed in my 25 last week. What kind of update are you talking about? I didn't think there were any kind of updates that didn't require a dealer (or yourself and a computer) to make to the ProCal?

I told the person handling the paperwork that I didn't want it permanently mounted, but then she came back and said the tech said it was required (which was confirmed incorrect up above).

Yes but the display is on a suction cup mount on the bottom left of the windshield. So they routed the cable up from the ODB through the dash/pillar and then out to the display unit.

Sir.... the cable runs behind the pillar and through the dash down to wherever it needs to be plugged into. I wouldn't want to undo all of that (just in case), but also wouldn't want that cable just hanging out of the pillar.

Oh well. I guess I can just hide the cable if it bothers me too much. Thanks!

QQ I've been sitting here at the dealership waiting for them to finish my install. I told them that I didn't necessarily need the "display module" mounted/plugged-in after they were done installing the tune, but they told me that it had to remain plugged in. That's not correct, is it?

I wanted to go this route, but for some reason, my local dealership was not listed as a possible shipping location for this. My ProCal was overnighted from Ford yesterday, arrives today at my house, and I'm set up for install appointment at that same dealership at 7am on Friday!
