Not surprising at all, turbos and such were originally called "altitude compensators"
Yup, "Turbosuperchargers" aka Superchargers were quite the thing in WW2 piston powered aircraft. For Example, the P-38 Lightning used both exhaust driven turbochargers along with mechanical driven superchargers to have excellent high altitude performance.

Not surprised. I live at 4K foot altitude and often visit higher altitudes.

I was spoiled by the 3.5L EB in my 23 F-150 and the 2.7L TurboMax in my Colorado. When I tried going back to a 3.6L NA Pentastar engine in my Jeep Gladiator I quickly figured out it wasn't going to work for me, especially when towing.

Looking forward to getting my 2.7L Ranger this week.

True enough.

They're okay if someone is never going to tow. With my small rpod it struggled. I've owned two Gladiators. I always thought they needed a plain jane 5.7L as an option.

If one is using a truck to do truck things, I don't see the sense in the 5.0L V8 over the 3.5TT. I’ve had both in an F150 and tow a 3-horse horse trailer in Texas. It's not even close. The 3.5TT does everything better. You'll find some nut jobs saying the 3.5TT isn't reliable and they are just factually wrong. Yes, if you're most concerned that your truck "sounds" great, get the 5.0 and change the stock exhaust. If you're most concerned about doing real work, get the 3.5TT. So, when I wanted a mid-size truck, the 2.7TT was the only way to go IMHO.

Yea, the 3.5L was great. My only issue with the F-150 was the size. Darn thing just felt huge. Would barely fit in my garage, hard to park, etc. Got to the point I didn't like driving it. The Rattler was a one year production that had the Raptor style dual exhaust. Sounded okay.
