I would highly suggest visiting the Borla website as they have excellent audio for our Rangers. Don't get me wrong, I can do....but it won't be a good representation. I guess I could put Deb in under the Leer and run the gears up a bit from stop to ???....but I'll leave that sales pitch to you. I don't have a quiet toy in my box and never will.

I wasn’t thrilled with there site soundbite . Not that the system will not sound good but just the audio

Your choices are pretty clear Jason: What you don't hear with the factory exhaust, and a system that you will hear. An audio clip won't answer louder, but not too loud, some drone or no drone at all. In other words, if the factory exhaust is not meeting your expectations, pick your manufacturer of choice and bolt one on. BTW.....Borla produces the Ford Performance exhaust.

I just had a chat with K&N Tech Customer Service. Yes, the airbox is open as pictured. Their testing shows more power gain with an open air box. He stated that ALL the new CAI use an open air box and after reviewing their other product lines....he is correct. All of them are open. Of course I said the words - doesn't that design negate a cold air intake? The answer was yes, but you get more power with an open box. Asked and answered I guess.

The open airbox would provide more power on initial dyno pulls before heat soak comes into play.
What happens to that extra power on a hot day when engine compartment temperatures are high is anyone's guess because those numbers will never be published.
My guess is the published numbers are strictly for marketing purposes and are not indicative of actual gains.
