Yep. Here in NA "if it ain't an F150 it ain't shit" seems to be Ford's corporate mentality. They are solely focused on the ridiculously fat profit made by the F series... Super Duty too.

I believe Ford only begrudgingly brought the Ranger back to NA. Competition forced them to.
That and UAW contracts likely forced them to find something for MAP to build after Focus production ceased there in 2018. They had to fill a void pre Bronco and the Ranger was the easiest transition. Much of the tooling need to produce the Bronco would be the same as the Ranger so it made the investment worthwhile.

continued interest in 6G Ranger until I can get enough information to decide if it is an upgrade over my Maverick- or not.
That is the true dilemma I am about to face. My Maverick build is finally scheduled for 5/11 and I am damn near giddy for it, but also balancing the thought in the back of my mind of "did I really wait for my Maverick for this long only to give up on it for the 6g Ranger and wait some more?"

Good problems to have, I suppose.

I'm in the same boat with my Bronco, which will arrive at the Dealer any day now.

All I really wanted to know was the RRaptor's price, for the most part, so I could've made a solid decision on the Bronco. It may end up sitting on the Dealers lot for a week or two in hopes of Ford finally dropping some info on the G6 Ranger.

Unless you have already coordinated something with you dealer, just be careful with waiting with the Bronco. The fine print stipulates the dealer can sell your custom order if you don't pick it up within a set amount of days (I believe it is 2 or 3).

30 days from the time it hits the lot
I've already talked to them about it.

Got time to let it play out. Take the Maverick and enjoy it for what it provides that interested you enough to order one. It will take 2-4 weeks to reach you. Give it a thorough look over and drive it. Gotta confirm if it meets your expectations - especially if you never got to test drive 1 before ordering.

Nobody knows when Ranger orders will be open, or even when we'll have specs to review to compare against the Maverick or other competitors to come. I went into the Maverick purchase after tons of research and a couple of test drives. It has a lot of really good features going for it at a great price. I also accepted it has some limitations too. Next week marks 6 months since I picked it up and it is not my primary driver. I'm still waiting for Ranger specs release so I can see if I can get Super cab + 6' bed configuration. It's make or break for me. If I can get it I order 1. If configuration not available I will use the Maverick more and be happy 😊

The really cool thing is my Maverick will not lose any value while I wait out delivery of a new Ranger and the order costs nothing. It's common knowledge used Mavericks are averaging +$5k sale prices above original purchase cost. My dealer freely admits this. So 1st world problem here.

I will NEVER own a Toyota. That's my personal decision but I don't critique anyone for getting what they think is best. My only option, at this point, would be the GM twins or keep what I have. I think Ford is so focused on everything non-ICE that everything else is an afterthought. It's a shame because I have had blue ovals for over forty years from performance to off road vehicles. I guess I'm just old school and will adjust accordingly...
I’ve only ever owned Ford Trucks (and Volvo cars). Loved both the ā€˜94 Ranger and ā€˜02 F-150 (both purchased new). I would love nothing more than to own another Ranger, but if it isn’t offered in a SuperCrew/longbed I’m out. Might have considered one of the GM twins had they offered the cab/bed configuration I wanted, but it’s a pass with them as well. Nissan’s latest effort falls short right out of the gate in my eyes. My brand loyalty only goes so far in a market that has gotten expensive and more competitive. Time will tell once these last two midsize truck are unveiled. As much as my F-150 has been a great truck the last 21+ years, I’m more than ready for a new truck.

agree with you on Toyota. Don't fit my personal requirements and overpriced based on reputation. Will disagree with you on the non-ICE take. They deliberately split the company into 2 separate companies that run very independently. If 1 goes bankrupt it doesn't affect the other. I'm agnostic when it comes to brand loyalty throughout my life. It just so happens the product offerings by Ford the last few years meet my requirements best (not talking here about difficultly getting them!) and led to my purchase of Maverick and continued interest in 6G Ranger until I can get enough information to decide if it is an upgrade over my Maverick- or not.
Split into two companies but which is the "favorite child" that seems to be getting a lot of attention and $$$. Mustang Mach E and Lightning are their darlings for now. Diversifying is smart business for the future but pi$$ing everybody off in the present is not. Under promise and over deliver is a good business practice the opposite is not. I work in distribution/supply chain and it's not good, better than it was, but at least we figured out to adapt and operate based on reality like longer lead times and when it is time to pursue other options. Most importantly, stay transparent by communicating and collaborating. Realize margins have changed but something is better than nothing. I am not an economics or business expert but seeing short-comings and failures repeated does not require an expert to know that creative changes are needed.

I can see that the specific configuration that you are looking for will limit your choices. Unfortunately, the manufacturers build to the masses but the new Ranger has been spotted with almost what you are looking for. My '22 Maverick has fit my needs in the 16 months that I've owned it and I can live with driving it for a while with no issues if necessary. The bed has handled everything that I've had to transport at this point, the power and handling is fantastic, MPG is pretty good too.
I am very brand loyal, but I'm not dumb nor am I in a position of need so if I don't like what I see or the $$$, I keep driving what I have and that's not a bad thing.

Agree with your points, I just interpret the background moves differently than the media coverage. To me all the media focus "EV everything all the time" does not reflect the reality daily for most of us - and I pretty much dismiss it as hype and propaganda for impressionable masses.

Far as I can tell, the Blue company is self-funded based on earnings from F-150, Super Duty, Mustang, and Fleet roughly in that order. The fledgling E company is funded mainly by debt and some revenue from promising products like Lighting and Mach-E with ramping production and crazy profit margins. I don't have a horse in that race so outcomes over time don't affect me either way. Good time to be a spectator on that experiment I think.

Cheers
