My wife has a 2018 Ford Fiesta with 23,000 miles. She takes it in to the Ford dealer every year for an oil change (about every 3000 miles). The dealer checks everything on the car and always gives it a clean bill of health. Last year the dealer suggested she change the battery due to the age (7 years) I went ahead and installed a new Interstate battery last year.

It's going on it's 8th year. I'm thinking shouldn't the radiator hoses and heater hoses be replaced and the cooling system be flushed? Even though there has been no cooling system issues?

Usually coolant is 100k to 150k and either 7 or 10 yrs. Check your service manual to see what Ford recommends. No harm in doing it early but given the car doesnt see a lot of miles or likely hard use I would just stick to the suggested intervals.

Btw motor oil is usually ever 6months or by mileage, not once a year. Especially with wet belts (I believe the fiesta uses a wet cam belt and oil pump belt).

So stick with Ford spec oils for belt compatability and also regualr intervals by mileage or time to avoid excessive acid buildup that will over time accelerate damage to the belts (aka good maintenance and youll be fine).

If you want to check to see how the oil is actually performing, I highly suggest getting an oil sample at your next oil change and sending it in for lab analysis. They can do a TBN test to see how much base additive is left that neutralizes the acids.

Intervals are usually good for most, but nothing beats lab analysis!

Don't need to do it with every oil change, jist once and a while to guage how your oil is doing under your specific driving conditions.

I usually do one every 50k and make adjustments to intervals if needed.

I also suggest using TopTier fuel brands. All grades at TopTier fuel stations have the detergent packages. Get the TopTier app on your phone and it will find all the stations nearby, makes a bug difference over time in engine reliability, especially with DI engines.

AAA did lab testing on multiple engines and confirmed how big of a difference it makes, that's a better route than using crappy gas and then fuel system cleaners because it prevents carbon buildup in the first place!
