I've got 265/70/17 on Ranger Tremor take off wheels, no rubbing with possibly room to go bigger.

can I put 265/65r17 stock is 255/70r17 2024 ford ranger xlt 4x4 I want to know if they will fit well without rubbing

Those tires are smaller in diameter than stock, and barely (less than ½ inch) wider:

2×(255÷25.4)×0̸.70̸ + 17 = 31.1" || 255÷25.4 = 10̸.0̸"​

2×(265÷25.4)×0̸.65 + 17 = 30̸.6" || 265÷25.4 = 10̸.4"​

This should have basically zero impact on fitment, unless you are also planning for a drastically reduced offset (which you didn't mention).
