Has anyone tried to do an ABS Brake Bleed (without opening bleeder nipples) on the newer rangers? All the videos online show that they can choose which component was "replaced," but in my forscan, I don't have that option.

Instead, running the ABS service bleed says that it will be completed in two steps:
1. Brake Module Self-Bleed, which runs automatically.
2. Brake Master Cylinder Bleed, which then requests a pressure bleeder and bleeding at the wheels.

I stopped after the first step because I do not have the equipment for the next step. I'm wondering whether I can do the second step without opening the bleeder nipples.

I want to do the procedure in the video because I installed BBks and the brake pedal is mushy, and completing only the first step made no difference.

You need to complete both parts of the abs service bleed. The first step runs the pump to get the air out of that. then you have to bleed each caliper in the order it tells you. you can pick up brake bleeding kits on amazon that pressurise the system and you can bleed each caliper without taking the wheel off (altho that is with the stock calipers). but without opening the bleed nipples you aren't going to do much

I already did a full fluid flush before, so trying to complete step 2 without opening the bleeder nipples is just something I'd like to try and see if it makes a difference.

Oh I see. Yeah you can run step 2 without opening the brake nipples. Not sure it’ll make any difference tho

Have you looked into speedbleeders?
they make things so simple without introducing air in the system.

I don't understand why you don't want to bleed the sytem at the caliper. Everytime I have replaced a caliper I have always bleed the system at the caliper.

The bleeder valve or nipple is on the top of the caliper after installation, correct?

Open the caliper valve farthest away. Have someone in the truck slowly pressing on the brake pedal until all the air is out of the caliper, then quickly shut the caliper valve. Then release the brake pedal, I've always done it this way.

I completed this when I had a 2020 ranger. I purchased new and had the squishy brake pedal. Completed this procedure without doing any caliper bleeding and it completely took out the slop in the pedal.
