Hello and good morning. New here and this is my first post.

I have a 2025 Lariat with just over 12,000 miles. I got in last night and when I started it the messages in the photo appeared over and over again “memory recall not permitted while driving”. To top it off, my seat started moving forward while I was driving and had me pressed against the steering wheel. I haven’t even programmed a position for the seat yet.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I have it at a dealership now but don’t have much faith in them from past experiences. Thank you for any feedback you can provide.

I had a similar string of faults at around 10k miles. I had an F150 that also did it and was out of warranty so I had to diagnose it. The F150 turned out to be a loose ground connection on the chassis ground. I was quite lucky that it wasn't something more. I decided to do a quick check on the Ranger looking for a similar issue. The positive battery clamp on the Ranger was so loose that I was able to pull it off with little effort. I'm surprised that I was able to start the truck with it that loose. I retightened the clamp and haven't had an issue since. Fingers crossed it's that easy of a fix for you as well.

Thank you for the response. Very much appreciated. I’m lucky that the full warranty is good till 36,000 miles at least. I hope it’s something simple like you pointed out. The person at the dealership had a “holy sh-t” look on his face. I took photos of everything as it happened so that I had evidence. I’m glad I did or think they would have just dismissed me. Unfortunately the ONE dealership we have in the area does not have a great reputation.

dang, that sucks and i hope its very easy and they actually find/fix it.

i wish american car companies did the 5 year / 100k mile warranty like nissan does. i worry about that with my ranger since my previous nissan needed an engine replaced at 30k, the fuel system at 40k, and the paint redone at 65k. plus other little things replaced in between those.

My first vehicle was an 86 Ranger with dual gas tanks and tiny seats in the back. Drove it to just over 300,000 miles with no major mechanical, or any other, issues. It’s been F-150 and 250 since. Now it was time to go back to the Ranger.

Ford has been great overall. It’s a car company so of course they can be less than rational sometimes. That being said I’ve been reading more than I’d like about issues, mostly electronic, with the 5g.

Dropped off at the dealership 2hrs ago. I’ll update as things occur(or don’t)

my 04 ranger has something like that on it, i cannot remember if its 325k or a little less.

all my dad used to buy for the plumbing company trucks were rangers. since i was in high school in 94, all we had were rangers. when they go t to 300k, he got another one. he would buy them with 90k and we would use them for 2 or 3 years and they would be at the 300k miles and off they would go. we never had issues with any but one with a 2.3 lost power once and needed an engine.

I had a similar string of error messages like that when I was installing my anti stop/start device. I didn't have the new wiring completely secure which caused the seeming uprelated problems. Once the device was secure the messages went away. I did not experience the seat moving but I did have the presets in place. I think the dealer will be looking for some electrical wiring faults when you take it in.
