Funny that in this thread we are talking about iffy build quality by Ford. I had a GT350 with a few body fitment issues, got rid of it when I got tired of dealing with it.

How was the install on the catch can, I was actually talking with my son about this today since he is getting one for his Tacoma as well.- Added a UPR dual catch can system at 400 miles. Changed the oil at 2000 miles and had about 1/2 of an ounce of oil in it. That settles that...
Me too!I'd buy this thing again in a heartbeat.
2026 tonneau covers available now. Received my new 2026 sentry ct cover ftom realtrucks today.Things I noticed/changed on mine pretty early:
- Had to slam the hood pretty hard to get it to close. Hood to panel gap was wonky also. Adjusted the latch up about a quarter inch, unscrewed the rubber bumpers a few turns each to account for the latch moving up, which worked fine. After that, I could drop the hood at about 1 foot-open and it would close and latch fine.
- Didn't like not having hood struts, so I added those
- Swapped out the center divider cubby tray thing
- Added the stubby antenna
- Added a Tackform picatinny rail device mount above the infotainment screen, splurged and got the cell phone magnet with built in wireless charger, it makes my heart happy haha, get it. I still use carplay 75% of the time, but I also still want my phone accessible and charging
- Under seat storage in the back is not great, had to really downsize the gear I carry. (Coming from a Colorado and Rams previously)
- 26's have updated/thinner bed rails, not many 2026 capable tonneau covers are out there yet
- Cast steel driveline-related parts all have rust on them, thinking about brushing on some POR-15 rust inhibitor paint
- Got a used engine start-stop disabler from a member here, I like not having to remember to turn it off every time I get in
- Added a UPR dual catch can system at 400 miles. Changed the oil at 2000 miles and had about 1/2 of an ounce of oil in it. That settles that...
I'd buy this thing again in a heartbeat.
Enjoy your new truck, theyre fun to drive. Lots of customization available, so easy to personalize.I appreciate all of the replies. Some good info for both common defects found and customization ideas.
Truck arrived today and had a broken tail light housing, looks to be maybe an impact from a rock or something while in transit on the hauler truck. Not too big of a deal but the replacement tail light wont be here for another 2-3 days so I wont get to pick it up until next week.

It wasn't that bad to install. Took me around 30 minutes. One of the old connectors needs to be sacrificed to put on the new one (with the dual set up, not the single if you go that route). Just ordered some AN-10 sized double-hose holders to organize the two hoses that run along the rear of the motor also. Zip ties work but I wanted it a little cleaner than that. The AN10 connectors were 20 for 4 of them on amazon, so not too bad. Here's the link if anyone is looking for those: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DZHHDQN9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1How was the install on the catch can, I was actually talking with my son about this today since he is getting one for his Tacoma as well.
Mine was a pain because I ordered the pro check valve and had to remove the one already installed. One side came out easy but had nothing to grip to once the hose was off, put it in a vise after getting nowhere. It took about 5 minutes to install the single. Only needed a wrench for the one nut the rest is quick connect. It wasn't that bad to install. Took me around 30 minutes. Download the ford app and add your vin so you have remote start/vehicle status from anywhere. Go through the screen menu and set everything how you like. I added the 4d tech auto start stop disable $100, did the same on my explorer after not wanting to press the button every time. I anlso ordered this glove box damper, it’s $10 and easy to install. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CR7W2521?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleHey everyone!
As the title suggests, my RR will be here any day now and I am stoked to pick it up. As a new owner, are there any tidbits of info that I absolutely have to know upon receipt of my new truck?
I'm traditionally a Toyota guy (2004 v8 4Runner, 2023 4Runner TRD Off-Road), however the new Tacoma doesn't come in a V6 so, here I am. The last Ford I owned was a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT (F-150). Thanks in advance and I look forward to being a part of this community.
