This size would give an increase of 1.05" in tire radius and require about a 1.5" lift. I'm thinking this might be the best option for the FX4.

Any thoughts?

For reference stock FX4 tires are 255/70R17 = 31.1"X10"
stock Raptor 285/70r17 = 32.8X11.5

Great, I can't find any 18" rims that say they fit the 2024 Ranger. If you go on Tire Rack or Discount Tire they don't have anything listed under the new Ranger. It seems our trucks are too new for any aftermarket support. I noticed the Bronco has different offset requirements from our Rangers so thats a no go too. I noticed the Lariat comes with 18" wheels so eventually there should be aftermarket support.

There are many 18" wheels that suit the '24 Ranger. TireRack doesn't have the 6th Gen Ranger(s) in their database yet - but there are many other places that do. As a future Raptor owner I don't know as much about fitment with the standard FX4 Rangers, but there are some others who had done a lift and larger tires on the site here. I suspect you will need offset around +35 to+55 with an 8"-8.5" wide wheel with the modest lift you are discussing to keep it within the fenders.

Just google (example: 18x8.5 6x139.7 PCD wheels) and you will find many options. Method, Icon, RTR, etc. all make wheels that fit. Also CJPonyParts has some options from the Ford Performance/Roush catalogs as well.

Gonna piggy-back off this and ask - is there that much difference between a 17x8.5 and an 18x9 wheel? With these trucks, do I want to stay with the 8.5 width? Method makes a killer looking wheel I want but only comes in 18x9 +18. It does come in a 17x8.5 +25, but I like the look of the 18s a little better. Thx

I think 285/65R18 gives you the same size as the RR tire. You'll get better on road performance but will have less sidewall for offroad. Its pretty equivalent to the RR and significantly bigger than the stock FX4 tire.

-corrected

I'm looking at 275/70R18 because it will give a full one inch more ground clearance over the stock FX4 tire and will help you roll over obstacles. Its a true 33" tire, and I think should fit with only a 1 to 2 inch lift. I think any bigger and you're going to have to start making pretty significant modifications.

What size tire are you planning on getting?

285/65r18 - Hoping Fox comes out with a 2" coilover kit. I currently have a factory 2.5" rake and the 2" level would leave me .5" rake for hauling. That's the hope anyway

I'm not sure +40 offset is enough. Here's a picture of them with a 3/4" wide straight edge, the suspension is at fool droop. I measured 9/16" between the straight edge and where the knuckle connects to the control arm. The rim is 18"X8.5" +40mm
I'd really prefer not to have to add wheel spacers.

I think I recommend going with the +35 offset.

Yeah, if you look at the curve of the RR steering knuckle I think its completely different from the FX4. Anything close to the RR's +55 isn't going to work.
