Only when I'm in 4H and in reverse, specifically when the wheels are turned, I feel as if the brakes are being applied. When I apply more gas, it really feels like it's fighting the brakes and spins a little. Only when I straighten the wheel, I don't need to apply any gas to go in reverse.

Anyone have this issue? I've updated the brake boost recall OTA (albeit I didn't go to a dealership). I have the brake assist on, but it doesn't flash and give me a heart attack when the brakes are applied. Curious if someone can replicate this before I go take it to service.

Are you sure it's not the 4wd system binding up a bit. Mine does it even on slippery surfaces. It like a jerky feeling.

No I wouldn't say its binding and I'm on dry pavement. Normally I don't even need to apply any gas to reverse park, but I'm really having to gas it which is alittle sketchy backing in my garage.

Yeah, it's probably binding. Shouldn't be in 4H on dry pavement.

The truck doesn't move, you give it gas and it kind of jerks and lurches as it moves.
This is 100% normal operation for a true 4x4 system on a hard dry surface. The front axles are binding due to the operational angle. Take it out of 4x4 and there is no torque on the front axles = truck rolls freely.

The above being said....4A is appropriate for street driving. It acts as 2WD (RWD?) until it detects slippage, at which point the system sends torque to the front wheels.

But apparently it also acts as a quasi-AWD (per below thread) with varying torque to front wheels even without slippage during acceleration.

Not sure what the exact consensus it, but recommend not driving around in 4H on pavement.

only for whoever you are racing (as long as you are not turning. turning is bad in 4h on a dry road)
