Adding Techron fuel additive

Kind of a lame question:
I am not familiar with the fuel fill auto shut off.
When adding Techron do I need to use the funnel that hopefully came with the truck? I haven't checked to see yet.
I understand it should be under the back seat?
I didn't want to try and shove the neck of the bottle down the hole either spilling it or getting it stuck.
