This guy is an expert on everything.I'm a little late on this but.....I wouldn't call an OTA a "recall". It's a software update that doesn't require any dealer service bay intervention, it's a software update. It's not as if engine component manufacturing defects have been identified that are causing Ranger engines to grenade at less than 5k miles....and replacement engines at less than 500. It's not as if Ford engineers significantly underspec'd engine oil resulting in "good" engines eating themselves. I'm pretty sure that's GM and Toyota with these kinds of recalls.
Ford does use OTA software updates for recalls as I got the trailer module recall OTA on my powerboost
